Not being one of those who has to have the knigs new clothes and the most expensive I'd still rather an F50

OK--On a limb on this one...I was watching one of those nightly hollywood shows, like Extra or something along those lines...and Demi Moore is in the Charlies Angels movie. They showed a shot-freeze frame-of her on set, standing in front of what LOOKED LIKE--not saying for sure--a red Enzo. Remember in the 1st one Cameron Diaz drove a red 360M, so, maybe there already is one in the US...They where shooting in Malibu.

Nice pics DJ, you've been holding out on us!

According to reliable sources, the Enzo should make its debut in America
in the Spring but is being tipped to make its first appearance at Cavallino.

Also saw this while driving around.

DB, while at the factory they were working on Enzo #s 11-26. I'm guessing the 1st 10 are being or have been delivered so a couple should be in the states by now.

The yellow enzo looks great... driving one has to be simply amazing. Can't wait to see lap times compared to the McLaren F1. Pretty sure the Enzo will come out on top - at least I hope so. It would be much too embarrassing for Ferrari if it didnt.

I know Eddie Bello (he has been in PR many times), and have seen his car many times. His Porsche is not a street Porsche by any stretch of the imagination, but he puts out quite a show.

I agree with you on the 70mph roll scenario for the Supra. That is all I race, 70mph+ to top speed, because of traction problems.

db 360, again, not doubting the cars ability to run those times, watch the video, what do you see, drag slicks, and race gas.

I finally saw the Enzo last week in person cruising around Maranello. Here a couple pics.

PS: I just dyno'd 623rwhp on my Supra Saturday:-) I believe SW's old Supra ran 9s all day long with complete interior, a/c, etc. That car is more reliable than any exotic car but I'll still take the Ferrari or Lambo over it. No flames please:-)

ernesto, you should clean the wax out of your ears. i never said a supra could not run in the 8's. or 9's. i said it could not be done without drag slicks. unibody chasis, does not mean full interiored. these cars are completely gutted, no a/c, no radio, no nothing. you can not drive a car on the street with race slicks on,(not legally).

as far as race gas, im sure you run it in your car all the time, but the fact remains you cant pump it at the pumps, you must put it in jugs and take it with you. because it is meant only for the race track, and not the street.

so ill leave you with a final scenario, if you were in Arizona, where i am, and you ran out of race gas, and the nearest gas station selling race gas was a 45 minute drive, youd have to pump in 91 octane. to legally drive a car in arizona, youd have to be on street tires, not drag slicks. so now with normal pump gas, and street tires, how far down on power do you think you'd be? my guess, around 200hp. could you put 600hp to the ground, my guess.. no. thats why all the supra guys want to go from a 70mph roll.

Im not bashing the supras in any way, i like them alot, and it is amazing the power you can pull from them reliably. Ive had porsches that would cream my diablo, 714 rear wheel hp, in 2500pds, at 1.2 bar on pump gas.

also if your in New jersey, youve no doubt seen Eddie Bello, who ran an 8.80@168mph on drag radials, not slicks.

Allan, I'm going to stop talking right now. I have seen these things with my own eyes. I go to englishtown, atco and other tracks at least three times a year. I have seen it with my own eyes. Either I am a liar or I am smoking crack, as you say. Because of course you cant be wrong, because you keep a close eye on the import scene.

Here is a link.

http://www.powerhouseracing.com/mvpsupra/mvpsupra.htm

This Supra, built by Jarrett in Texas, ran 8.98 with slicks. Full unibody, plus addons required by the track to run. This was more than a year ago. I have seen others go faster and quicker. I run race gas on the street in my Supra all the time, does that mean that its no longer a street car? Please... Just because it doesn't appear in Turbo Magazine doesnt mean it doesnt exist. Come to the local track in PR, and you will be very surprised at what you see (that doesnt make the mags).

I can keep posting links to these cars, but whats the point? You are now insulting on a personal level.

ernesto, get off the crack pipe. i follow the import scene very closely. no supra has ever ran under 9.0 full bodied and full interiored, and none run a 9.0 on drag radials.

you are right about exotics not being designed for drag racing, but neither are supras.

can you say DRAG SLICKS?

also, once you use race gas, its not a street car anymore, as you are not allowed to run race gas on the street. in a real world street situation, on street tires and pump gas, supras lose worlds of power without the ability to crank that boost.

I never said anthing about being on pump gas. The Supras I have seen in New Jersey and Miami, and been documented on various magazines, had FULL interiors, FULL body, STOCK chassis, on shaved BFG Drag Radial STREET tires and also with slicks running less than 9.0. At least two street Supras are running 9.0 with 900+rwhp. I don't know how else to say it. I guess you just dont want to understand it, or accept it.

A drag race between a heavily modded Diablo and a heavily modded Supra, my money is on the Supra anytime. I have yet to see a Diablo perform well at a drag race, track or street. Just like I havent seen any 360's or TR's do well, so dont take it personal. It is a very different ball game, a game for which these cars were not designed.

ernesto, i am very happy with what i drive, i wouldnt have it any other way. but i do like all sorts of cars, supras being one of them. i am merely pointing out that you dont give all the info. a supra, on pump gas, will not make anywhere near the power it does on race gas, and the 9.0 sec cars are on slicks, with fully gutted race interiors.

I am not saying that a Supra cannot beat my lambo, because i know there are supras that will. just as i know of porsches, that will beat those supras, and so forth.

your only completely true statement, "there is always someone faster"

Your comment of"the supra will win hands" down is unsubstantiated. by the way, my car weighed 3322pds, with gas, verified.

lol sorry Tako...

I think the next big trend from Japanese auto makers is cubic inches that's why I think the next Supra will have more meat. If you don't believe me look at the 350Z... .5L more displacement that the 300ZX and no turbo...

I hope it still has a turbo... maybe a TT V8 with 450hp? I have heard too many rumors and read too many magazine articles on it. It would be a shame to lose the 6 inline turbo, so easy to crank it up to 800hp, and not too much trouble to take it up to 1,100 hp. I guess we shall see...

I hear the next NSX will have a V8 or V10 with 400+ hp. I hope so, because it seriously needs it.

Poor TAKO, we hijacked his thread!

My full-bodied Supra weighs 3,440 lbs, verified and weighed.

I know Saad Saad and Guilly. Just because they cant do it doesnt mean it hasnt been done. SEVERAL Supras have run 9.0 in the 1/4 mile, with stock bodies. I make 810rwhp, and I can "only" run 10.66. Does that mean it cant be done? I have broken enought driveshafts to stop trying. But, I have seen it with my own eyes, so...

You dont have to constantly defend your car, whatever you drive. Just be happy with it. There will always be someone faster...

ernesto,
first of all, keep dreaming that your supra would win hands down. if both cars are roughly 800hp, my car weighs just over 3300pds, making it roughly 2-300pds lighter than your supra. my car also has a much better gearing and traction advantage.

also, i have met Saad Saad, who has one of the fastest supras in the world and he cant break into the 9's.no, full bodied, street driving, street tired supra will run 9's. nor can you get that kind of power out of any supra unless you run race gas. also, Guily, who also has one of the fastest supras, makes 800 rear wheel hp, and his best is 10.41@ 139

I have seen street 900rwhp supras on bfgoodrich drag street tires run 9.0 in the 1/4 mile, and keep pushing after that. I dont think a diablo, or any street ferrari for that matter, has a chance.

I'd still take the Ferrari though, so this is not a flame.

It's fun seeing grown people that can afford exotics argue over a wing through the internet... BTW, a T88 Supra vs. moded Diablo w/ NOS would be an interesting race... *hint hint*

Anyway...

The Murci is awesome. I saw a yellow(ish) one next to a Spider last night near an Italian resturant (Italian get together?). It's much more clean looking than a Diablo IMHO. Still, as I look at the 360 next to it, their is no mistaking it's a Ferrari. Looks supurb even next to the Lambo. Silver goes so well with the 360.

As for the Enzo... I'd rather have one Enzo than any other exotic or sports car. If it would mean, family car, SUV, and Enzo, then so be it. :-)

bret, thats a pretty misinformed statement, as anyone who works on lambos takes the rear trunk lid off to have access. whether or not there is a wing bolted to it makes no difference, 2 bolts and the whole thing comes right off, takes about 2 minutes.

I would never put a wing on a Lambo because without a wing they are a whore to work on anything in the engine compartment, with a wing in the way you'd have to rappel from the ceiling or something to change the accessory belts. Damn Lamborghinis, Forza Ferrari. I guess if you have a $300K car you don't look at it from a mechanics point of view though.

Manu that is damn impressive. No need for a wing in that case then IMO, although I still like how they look on the supercars.

The Enzo pulls 1.36 lateral G on normal Road Tyres (!!!!!!!) - NOTHING on the roads come close. Nothing.
The Bugatti EB110S pulled something like 1.06

Accelerative performance is only one part of the appeal of the car.
Looking back on it I will change my opinion and say that the Murcie is a F A S T car - I know I've driven one - but its unfair to compare the car to the Enzo which costs soooo much more.

The Enzo would eat the Murcie (and even the Zonda S) for breakfast.

P.S. That white Murcielago looks pretty damn nice actually - black ones look nice too.
Tako - don't you find they've gone overboard with the clutch assistance?

Youll lose about 100pds of unwanted weight, gain a substantial amount of power, car will run cooler, and the sound is to die for. Also, how do you like it soo far? Is it your first Lambo? I plan on picking up a Murci next summer.

ernesto, thats your opinion, and what you'd do with YOUR money, i stated what i would do with mine.

Using the arguement that i can only drive one, Id rather have a Murcielago, which i would twin turbo.

allan, using that argument you could say you could buy a Z06 Vette, Viper, SL55, 360 Spider, Bentley Turbo R, Range Rover, BMW M5, Audi S8, and have money left over for a boat for the price of the Enzo. For me, I'd take an Enzo over a murcielago, diablo, and F40... you can only drive one at a time...

enzo is a nice car, although i dont think comparing an enzo to a murcielago is apples to apples. i mean it costs 2 1/2 times as much. no doubt the enzo will be faster, but for my money, id buy a murcielago, a diablo, and an f40, 3 cars for the price of an enzo!

Much better than the Murci IMHO. I love how it reeks F1...

Ernesto, I sort of figured it was an F1... very high pitched for a road car... Oh well, I'll be hearing more of the Enzo...

The sound was the F1 car. The Enzo looks great, though... can't wait to see performance tests/results, especially times at the ring and comparos with F50, Murcielago, and I cant think of any other supercars to test against. I guess soon the Carrera GT, VW, and Bugatti.

That thing looks so much better in motion! All exotics look a bit tame in a photo, but in person they really come alive.

Well, unless that was an F1 car... it sure sounds good. :-) I love that car ever since I laid eyes apon it while others were saying it looked ugly. It's sweetness!
