I don't get Speedvision at home which is beyond me because I live like 15 min from NYC and have a magical cable box, but up at school I do in my apartment. The first few days I was like this is amazing, a whole channel of cars. Then came midweek and "Classic Nascar" Like half the week they play old Nascar races, all I could do was laugh. It would seem to me playing some good Indy 500s, F1 races (get some GV, Senna, etc in there), and other notable races would be much better. I can live with watching a Nascar race on Sunday, but 2 or 3 days of early 90s stock cars racing around a circle is a little much. BUT to me it's all worth it for every second Sunday.

Speedvision (since bought by FOX) has turned into 18 hours a day of NASCAR. It was far superior a couple of years ago. At least they do a good job of Barrett-Jackson in February.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll check it out. Wish we could get that British show Top Gear - the vids I've seen online look pretty cool.

I agree with Ron, waaay too much Nascrap on Speed. It was great before they got taken over, but it's gone downhill since then. But, Nascrap gets them the ratings...

Chris: If you're a real 'grease in your fingernails' kind of guy, check out "Dream Car Garage". The show is often quite funny, and they usually road test both a new and an old 'Dream Car' - quite often a Ferrari! (Recently a 275GTB/4)

Rikky

ABC did show the press conference at USGP, though they usually don't. I think it all comes down to timing - i.e when the race finishes compared to the time the next show is scheduled to begin. One thing with ABC is they have shown the premium feed where speed shows the cheaper world feed.

Well, Speed however shows the formation lap, as well as the podium celebration and the post race conference... ABC does not do that, although in monza they showed the formation lap (didn't in monaco)

PLUS, as I heard at the USGP on friday, "hey at least we don't have to listen to danny sullivan on ABC"

SpeedVision is a great channel with a lot of variable automotive coveridge, from F-cars to Muscle cars....HOWEVER, their F1 coveridge vs. ABC's is: Speed Vision is a 2 hour long commercial with occasional interuptions for a lap or 2 of racing, where ABC has racing interupted by an occasional commercial. I do feel Speed Vision has better commentators ....

Speedvision has coverage of a lot of different racing series you wouldn't find elsewhere. I caught onto the AMA Superbikes after subscribing and it is just awesome!

They do rebroadcast the F1 races, and will be showing their version of the US GP this coming sunday (stupid ABC). You'll see that the commentary on Speedvision is WORLDS better than what you find elsewhere, at least in the US.

www.speedtv.com ... do a filter on october for 'formula' and you'll see.

Hi Guys,

Finally got Speedvision and LOVE it. Would love to finally see some F-1 races rather than the highlights on the year in review tapes. Do they rebroadcast previous races? Are there any other cool shows to look out for? (I'm in central time zone). I'm sure they have a website, which I'll check out, but thought you guys could point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance,
~Chris
