As the OMP Challenge seats are FIA approved, they have to be bolted and made in one piece, ie non-adjustable. For the same reason, the covering has to be fire retardant, therefore nomex.

I'm looking at Sparco Milanos or Tourinos for my car, what specific seats have you guys used with success?

Pascal- comfort is very important, as long as you're driving the car, ajustability isn't that big a deal to me. I'll set it up once for me and leave it :-) Recline ajustability is important though.

Are any of the seats actually Nomex lined? Sparco alone uses a bunch of different fabrics in each line. Can't keep track.

Best!

Angelo,

I have tried them all. I had Momo competition seats in my BMW Club racer, Sparco competition seats in my street/track 355, and the OMP Challenge seats in my 355 Challenge car.

The Momo's seemed to have the lowest quality, the OMP are somewhat overpriced, and the Sparco's seem to be the best seat for the money.

Hope this helps!

The official seats used in the Challenge series are OMP. They are marked Ferrari Challenge on them (in white) and are clothed in red nomex material, not adjustable, with runners bolted into the floor. They usually are installed with an OMP 4 inch harness, 6 points. I had both installed in my 355 in addition to a factory roll bar but I traded in the car. I still have the seats and harnesses, although I am not sure I want to sell them as they are quite hard to get. They make a huge difference in driving, especially on the track, and I found them to also be more confortable than the stock ones. Highly recommend them.

I have OMP seats with a knob to adjust the back inclination in my 512TR & I am very happy with them, somebody else got Sparco seats in their TR and they dont have rails to adjust the seat forwards & backwards

I replaced my stock wheel on my 95 F355 with a Momo Challenge wheel and what a big difference over stock. It feels so much better. It is not slippery like the stock wheel since it is suede and looks so much better. It is also slightly smaller in diameter with the bottom of the wheel flat so you have much more leg room. You will have to get an adapter made. Momo does not make one for the F355.

Go w/ OMP; official outfitter for the Ferrari Challenge. Also, in CA, you can opt to have your airbag(s) disconnected, although youll be hardpressed to find a shop that will do it; as the liabilty is huge, however, most 'race' shops will install an aftermarket wheel and hub for you.

If you put MOMO seats and wheel they will fit in factory style- disconnecting and removing air bag is illegal unless you are strictly using it for track only.

Anyone out there with racing seats for a 355??? Send pictures... I want to replace my steering wheel with a momo. What are the legal parameters on disconnecting the airbag? Is it worth it???
