if anything ebay has made the "used car business" even more of a "used car business" :-)

Well I guess if you slip enough fine print into your E-Bay auction notice then you can get away with anything. But then that's typical of the used car business. E-Bay apparently hasn't changed that.

as long as the seller noted in the ebay auction that they reserved the right to close the auction early then nothing unethical was done.

as has been discussed ad nauseum elsewhere on this board, ebay is primarily a lead-generation tool for cars, not a sales conduit.

I think alot of those wheeler dealers are pretty flakey. A few months ago, there was a 308 for sale on E-Bay at the exact same time that it was listed on TraderOnline. I thought that was pretty unethical. How could a winning bidder actually buy the car off E-Bay if it was already sold to someone who saw the TraderOnline ad? Some of those dealers are burning the candle on THREE ends!

I have seen this exact car on ebay about a year ago. Now, the same pictures are on yahoo austion. Obviously, it has been for auction and not met reserve many times. This place selling it looks like they just link to salvage auctions and try to "flip" them for some cash. I recognize one of the cars as being actually currently for sale in Florida, not in their possession.
Somebody must have looked at this car, and perhaps even made a serious attempt to buy it. It reminds me of that wrecked 355 that is always on ebay.
I really think that if this was a good deal for ME, that someone else would have also decided it was a good deal for them, but here the 550 sits, unsold for at least a year.
