If you want to include non us I can supply you with some 'asking' prices for Euro model 348's as I've just done the research prior to buying mine. The variation is huge depending mainly on 2 factors - 1.mileage and 2. If main dealer, top independant or bomb site/back street dealer. Suprisingly enough all other things being as equal as possible, RED ones weren't the most expensive (probably due to more availability) |

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to plug away for fun, and I'll share my findings. Rob: Actually, I thought I'd start with the 328. There are a lot out there, and I've already catalogued many. Bill: You're right, and I realize there is no way to get the selling price recorded. For now, to make life easier, I'll just stick with the asking price. I'll factor in deviations from the asking price at the end. Again, thank you. I'll keep you updated! |

It will be difficult to determine actual selling price. Using the asking price will not accurately reflect the true value of the vehicles. I worked in the automotive database industry fro many years, and this sounds like a much bigger project than you may think. Then again, it all depends on how detailed you want to get and how many transactions you feel you need to reach a certain degree of accuracy. |

It's hard to analyze Ferrari prices like that as each one is so individual, if still trying for fun I would start with the higher produced cars for a good sample. |

Hey guys, Is there any sort of statistical examination out there regarding Ferrari pricing, specifically the effects of: a) kilometers b) age c) colour d) damage/types of damage e) part of the world where purchased f) other variables I was thinking of putting one together and examining means, variances, correlations, etc. I have an interest in collecting an examining data to reveal pricing anomolies/inefficiencies... I've frequented this board for a while and I've noticed people inquiring about the appropriate prices for discovered cars...and I think it would be cool if there was some sort of database we could consult to help make the buying process easier. For example, one could ask "I found a red 360 Modena with a scratch in the rear with 15,000km." The database could be consulted, means and variances will be computed, and a number will be spit out. This number in turn will be the number used to bargain around. Another use of the database could be to take advantage of undervalued cars... Even if one exists, I'll probably put such a database together 'cause I think it would be an interesting exercise.
