You can't regret having something many would wish to have, and you want a 360 spyder now? you have wishes like many of us humans have. When you have something high in possesion you have to take acceptance of what happens and the responsibilities that goes with it.

I have had my 308 since March and it has been a dream since I was a teenager. I looked out into the garage for many weeks just to make sure it was real. I had the same fears ie driving behind trucks, and parking it in busy lots. I am cautiuos when the car is out in public but I do not let it interfere with the pure joy I get from driving the car. Just like many others have said you must enjoy it. I will do the same with the next F car I own. With regard to onlookers and would be racers, havent any of you when you were younger pulled up alongside a person driving an F car with pure envy and a deepening desire to bust your but to make your own dream come true. We are fortunate.

My biggest fear of owning a Ferrari would be to be at fault in a major car accident..Insurance will cover it of course but all the wolves come out..
My next biggest fear would be to start the search process all over again to find the perfect car...
I'll cross the bridge if God forbid I get there.. (NO! I'm not lookn to start that again)

Just enjoy the car and don't let those evil thoughts consume you...

I think im more like Amir, Im scared of everything. Scared of parking under trees, scared of parking next to other cars, scared to drive behind trucks. I can say I dont enjoy it as much as I thought. I saw anouther ferrari on the highway right behind a truck, i almost died. I think i need help, but the Ferrari psychologist was more then I paid for the car. So he cured me, now i just drive.

Amir,
Drive to F-car events...
Drive with your significant other...
Drive it on weekends to keep it in shape...
Drive it between 3000 and 6500 rpm...
Drive it through the canyons...
Enjoy your F - Don't worry, Be happy.
Like the Italian-Americans say (with accent),

When I first got my Europa I was afraid to drive it. I could imagine smashing it up right away, or getting stranded...but then I got my courage up and the more I did drive it the more relaxed I was. Now I've put on 3500 mostly trouble free miles but I've been sorting out some problems and upgrading systems since May. And you know what? I miss it SO much!!! Today I get it back, hopefully finally running right, and I'll never be afraid to drive it again. It's too rare a pleasure to miss. I expect a Ferrari is the exact same. BTW, the fear of being stranded was a lot worse then the one time I actually was.

Amir, just drive it and enjoy it. It's still a car, and it's insured.

Amir,

If you haven't done so already, go buy a cheap car for all the occasions you don't want the visibility or don't want to worry about parking. I mean a really cheap car you absolutely don't care about. I personally bought a Toyota Rav4 (:

I was also very annoyed with all the attention and did end up exchanging my red 360 with a similar titanium model. Titanium is a lot less visible.

Amir

I understand were you are coming from. I still kinda get that way, as I'm sure others do, when it is time to put the car in the shop. But after it is all done I am happy I have it.

Well I can sympathise. They are expensive toys to fix if some a**hole puts a scratch or ding on them. Not to mention the loss in value of a damaged-repaired Ferrari.

I must admit I feel a bit nervous in traffic specially when someone feels he can cut you off and knows you will hit the brakes since your car is more valuable and "fragile". However, you only live once so what are we working for if we dont enjoy some of the innocent pleasures...!!

Amir, just enjoy it. Don't worry about it, there is nothing on it that cannot be fixed. I think Art said it best. Enjoy your life, enjoy the car. One of my good friends died earlier this year from cancer. He left behind a wonderful collection of cars that he didn't drive nearly often enough. I'm making damn sure I don't make the same mistake.

not that i think that i will ever lose the paranoid feeling of somebody messing with one of my cars in a parking lot, but that is part of the fun. the fact that you can care for such a vehicle and pass it on is the best part of ownership. there are, believe it or not, kids that recognise older ferraris and appreciate them. if it wasn't for people like us forgoing our paranoia, these cars would never be seen or enjoyed or passed on to the younger generations.

Amir,
you really summed up how I felt the third month I had my F-. I was too excited the first two months to even think about anything else. Then I got tired of everything you mentioned (see my embarassment post). But like many have said, you really do get used to it and then before you know it, you are driving the F- and you don't even realize it... that is until someone pulls up to you and says something, but you get used to that too. Just give it sometime.

I'm amazed at how many F-car guys go nuts when some teenagers or a rice guy pulls up and revs the motor. IT'S A JOKE!! They're just having fun. It's not serious. Wave. They smile, you (should) smile and wave, and move on. Everyone's happy, as long as you're not too paranoid.

Hey brother Amir, like some of the other fellas said here, I felt the same way when I first got my red mistress. All I can say is live it, and love it, and everything else on earth will be mere shadows. Hey, if my piece gets hurt, I know an artisan with a body shop that will spiff her right up. And if she gets totaled, it's insured for a lot more than she's worth, so I'd just be moving right into another piece of Enzo. Sure, the car was a huge goal of mine since I was a teenager, something I worked hard for, but it is a car, and they are making them every day. Hey, I'm saving my sheckels for a 355 Spyder so I can be cool as you! :-)

The death rate is 100%. None of us are leaving here alive. What makes the difference in how we live is that "did we do those things that made us feel good, or didn't we?" (I don't want to hear from those who say, was it right?) If we cdon't hurt others, the only thing that we get to do is time here. If you didn't do what you wanted to do, you've lost that little time you had. If you did, and you didn't hurt anyone else, you've won.

All the rest if bullsh*t. Enljoy your car, don't think about the money. Do what you want to do, drive it, race it, have fun with it. Its a Ferrari, and its meant to be driven.

It's a car, just like any other car, you will die one day and it all won't matter. Enjoy it while you have it.

I dont drive my 512TR on the road too often but people seem to go nutty when they see it, Yes they want to race you, kids start driving erratically & showing off. I just cruise & keep doing whatever it is I'm doing.
I imagine if Michael Jordan was playing basketball on a public court he would also get all sorts of Yahoos trying to show off around him. We are driving Champions so its a similair situation.
My friend has a really nice mountainbike in Buenos Aires, He gets all sorts fo Yahoos on crappy old 50# clunkers pedaling till their lungs are about to burst, but they pass him :-) LOL

I bought the car to drive and enjoy. When I first bought my 308 GTS QV I was so concerned every time I drove it about one thing or another than it came to me enjoy, this is something I have dreamed about for 20 years. As J.Grande said we are very fortunate people.Enjoy the dream!!

The only difference between my Saab, Volvo and the Ferrari is the Ferrari is way more fun and "cooler" to drive. The point is drive.

99% of people dream of owning one of these cars, we are fortunate to have realized our dream. Having said that, don't let the car control you, after all it is just a car....but damn, what a car! :-)

Like I say,

Its better to regret something you did than something you didn't do.

Enjoy the car, don't let it control you. If it gets scratched, so what. If some kid in a Civic wants to race you, who cares! Let the little bastard wreck his car. Just smile & be thankful you own a Ferrari.

I was like that when I first got my first Ferrari, an 84 308QV, eventually I realized that I was driving myself crazy & that the damn thing was insured so I just stopped worrying about it. You'll get over it soon enough, Meanwhile welcome to the club :-)

How long have you had it?

I found that after several months I treat it like any other car (well, almost). Also, the places you should be driving your Ferrari don't have all those things you listed as being worried about.

I don't believe in the garage queen Ferrari or the abused one, there's a happy medium in there somewhere. I'm not afraid of dirt, rock chips, or scratches. They can all be reversed.

I feel this way b/c I can't fully enjoy my 355. I am always paranoid about traffic, parking, driving, anything that involves the 355. Maybe I rushed in too soon to buy one and was not ready. Peaple that dont have ferrari's say that it must be the best thing in the world, well one time I used to think this too. I still miss my trade-in for the ferrari even though it was NOTHING close to a ferrari. I get a headache always worrying about the ferrari. Too much attention , too many a$$holes trying to race you. Maybe when i get older i will appreciate having a Ferrari. Please no flames...just MHO.
