I agree Steve. I jacked up my car yesterday and with the jack positioned under the door, It raised the whole car. I wonder if the pavment looked flat but was on a slope? That would account for less then the 2 inch ground clearance Mike had. If Mike is running the stock 205's, there is 2.3 inches from the tire touching the ground to the wheel. A unladended 308 has 4.5 inches of ground clearance. With the tire flat and the rim on the ground that leaves 2.2 inches on that corner of the car. Assuming he was on the side of the road, taking into account the average slope angle he would have had 1.7 inches. If he had 225/60, his clearance would have been 1.2 to 1.4 |

(Although this sounds a little strange) I believe that, if you have a flat tire at (for example) the left front, you can put the jack at the left rear position and lift the whole left side of the chassis (i.e., both left wheels/tires will be off the ground enough to be removed/replaced). |

Mike what tires are you using? on my 78 I had this problem when I was running 225/60 vr 14s..when I went back to the factory specified 205/70's (which killed the handling) It solved the problem. |

If you used the jack and moved it from it's factory position then you have now devalued your car by thousands. Hope you didn't scratch it or use the tools in the tool kit. Don't you know that you are not supposed to actually drive these cars or use the accessories? LOL |

the jack that my 308 had folded down and scissored the car up. it would slide under the car even with a flat. my dino is a differnet story, but it came with a jack that was different to allow you to jack the car. are you sure that you have the proper 308 jack? |

Well, This is a new one. I guess you positioned the jack correctly on level ground as per your owners manual. I haven't heard of the problem before nor have I had a flat to try it but I can't imagine Ferrari building a car that the jack could not be used in the event of a flat. I guess we need more input on this subject. |

Hmmm.... Sounds like another reason to consider that 16" wheel upgrade. Hans. (Flatless to date w/14" wheels.) |

It was the stock yellow scissors jack and I tried everything conceivable to get it under the car. Would not go. Wheels and tires are the stock 205/70/14, and when one is flat(rear), the car is about 2" off the pavement. |

Mike, You probably checked this but anyway was this on a level surface and did you use the square jack ports just forward of the rear wheel? Last question, Are you sure it is the correct jack? It is a yellow scissors type jack and collapse down almost flat within a couple of inches. |

Had a tire puncture last weekend on the way to the USGP in my 308. But, the jack would not go under the car when the tire was deflated. Too low to the ground to fit under the car. Ended up having to put the jack way under the suspension and lay on my belly cranking about one eighth of a turn on each try and no leverage. This is with the stock jack in the 308 toolkit. Check your jack and see if yours will go under the car if it is sitting about 4" lower with a flat. |
