Yeah, willie, that car was for sale 6-8 months ago. Looked pretty stock, except for the wheels, and F. Secourd did the engine for the first owner, who thought the BB stock was too lame. |

Theres a guy in the FCA in the NE who has a 512BB with a BBLM engine sweet. Last time I had the 512TR up at Watkins Glen there were 2 gorgeous BBLMs runnig together. With my new brakes I could close on them but they left me under acceleration. The BBLM has similair power to the 512TR but of course it weighs a lot less |

We had a well modified boxer in at work a couple months ago. That thing was cool as hell, I can't picture any 308 keeping up with it (within reason, I'm sure a 308 set up to run on top fuel, one of those Norwood Bonneville, etc could). The cams had a pretty large overlap in them, the exhaust smelled like it would kill you. Nasty car to say the least, and very cool. Plus, that flat 12's exhaust note is to die for. |

Thanks for the info guys. As I stated in my original post, I know that Ferrari's are not about 0-60. As William Hart has stated, Ferrari's are built as a true racer and not a dragster. I would still be interested to find out what the 0-100 time is. |

If you are buying a boxer for quick starts, you are missing the joy of the car. My BBi really came on at high speeds, and you could barrel out of corners with ruthless abandon. If i recall, the dogleg from 1st to 2nd didn't improve the standing start, but once you got moving, it could shove you back in your seat-hard. Depends on how much you want to waste the clutch; that car was not so forgiving, which is why kevlar clutches were popular. It also had a great sound, but i hated the funky michelin tires. There were as i recall two R&T tests, one in CAR, and the Mel Nichols book, all of which are worthwhile reading. I would have another boxer any day, and compared to a 3X8 of any iteration, the difference in torque is not subtle. |

Ken, I think either BB will easily outrun a 308QV. The carbed BB probably performs a little better but will require more maintenance. I think the 0-60 times are around 5. something, dunno about the 0-100 Also you might want to take a look at the 365BB which weighs less than the 512 |

I realized that Ferrari's are not meant for 0-60, but I need to know the 0-60 and 0-100 times for a Boxer 512BB and 512 BBI. Some sources list the 0-60 time as being in the 7 second range, and others mention the time as being in the 5 second range. Which is it? I am planning to upgrade from a 308 QV to either a 512BB or BBI and spending more money for a slower car is silly. Thanks. Ken
