actually it was the looks but after I started to get to know the 512TR I found out that not only is she a supermodel, she also puts out like a nymphomaniac :-)

after all the emotional reasons, i wud say #12 was definetely a factor.
don't want to lose out massively on sportscar depreciation? the only answer is a used ferrari that is close to the bottom of the curve. unlike other makes that reach that point on the curve, the fcar ususally has low miles, was well cared for, and still looks like a million ! smiles/dollar unbeatable in my book.

I promised myself I would own one one when a yellow 77 308 GTB drove past my house. I had no idea what it was. I followed the guy home on my Honda Z50 minibike. It was 1981 and I was 13 years old. It took 16 years but I made good on that promise.
I guess it was the look that did me in.

When i buy one it will probably be because i like the way they look and because i'm assuming they are more fun to drive than other cars. Also, it will be a celebration of my "making it." I just hope i dont expect too much from the experience and then drive one and be dissapointed. I used to think about all that passion crap, then i realized its just a car...a good looking, handbuilt, rare, fast car, but just a car nonetheless. Ferrari ownership slipped down on my "to accomplish list" in the past few months. Im not saying i dont want one, i just wouldnt want one now. I havent driven a car in weeks so that could be why im not as interested in them as i once was. but back to the point, the performance is a big part of it.

"11. no other car mfg has such racing prowess"- i beg to differ on this one.

uhhhhhh #2 coupled with a good case of temporary insanity. My '69 911S hotrod will simply blow the doors off my 308GTB in every performance catagory, but anyone looking in the garage pretty much doesnt notice the Porsche when its sitting next to the Ferrari. Also, while the Ferrari may not be in the same league speed wise, it certainly FEELS like you are flying when driving it even though reality is your not actually going that fast. The 911S on the other hand is so light weight and responsive that you find yourself traveling at insane speeds around corners and drifting the car on the throttle because its so much fun. Soooooooooooo one for the track and one for the street, the best of both worlds :-)

It would have to be lines and look. I saw a 308 on the road when I was a boy and it blew me away. Right then I knew I would own one some day. And here I am. And now that I drive one... #1 baby!

overall driving experience. plowed through about 15 porsches in 2 years trying to find that "perfect" car - didn't happen. finally broke down and bought a 355 and i've only had 2 "fun" cars over the next 2 years!!! (2 b/c i traded in the 355 for a 360). words can't explain it, there is just something about a ferrari. i'd take a 1995 355 over a porsche GT2 ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!!! unless i could sell the GT2 and buy 2 355's!!!!

12. purchasing a used F, it doesn't depreciate
in value as bad as any other cars -

13. the classics appreciate in value

14. fun factor ... scale 1 to 10... F's are at 11

15. ITS A FERRARI!!!!

6) Because I have always loved mid engined cars--my first car was an X1/9.

7) PinninFarina lines--nuff said.

8) an engine that make music rather than noise

9) I have had other sports cars, but wanted on that actualy handles while sideways!

10) I always liked the engines, chassis, and interiors of P-cars; but they have never made one that I would want to be seen in! (no pun at all)

Because my God goes by the name of Enzo and getting the Ferrari was the next step in my spiritual advancement. The next step after this is yet another Ferrari and another and another and another and more Ferrari books and more Ferrari magazines and more Ferrari prints.

Don't tell me my religion doesn't have any logical foundation, it's faith! You don't have to explain it.

The second coming of Enzo will happen as the embers burn hotter and the sky rains fire as Ferraris start to be badged GM! Enzo will come down upon us and open his hands to only those of us wearing Rossa Corsa and the Scuderia Ferrari symbol. I shall be surrounded by 50 virgins in 50 250 TR's in due time.

Performance - which includes the way the car 'feels' when you drive it. I like cars that make me smile when I'm driving them more than how much I smile looking at them.

You're not going to believe this, but I got it because of the gear ratios. A Miata is similar, but doesn't have as much HP w/o modifying it.

I'd have to lean towards temporary insanity.

I wanted to get a sports car since I have a daily/winter car. I don't like Jap cars really. German are alright. I like American engines a lot, but the only decent car to get them in is the Corvette or go the route of a Cobra replica, but then you get into the it's fake, blah blah blah deal. The C5 was quite expensive when I bought the 308 because there weren't really many used ones yet available, and although I love the C4 it is a little below the other cars available. The Cobra is only useable on sunny days, even with a hard top it still is not what one would call a bad weather car, although it would be interesting (you could make it work but it would be a pain). So, for the price I couldn't get a better sports car with a finer heritage. And the 308 is a daily useable car unlike the Cobra (despite what many think, the 308 does indeed run in bad weather). Plus, Ferraris are cool.

OUt of these reasons, what was your purpose for getting a Ferrari..

1) Speed and performance

2) The lines and the look of the car.

We all know the answer is both, but what attracted you the most....
