I just contacted your guy... I may have him do mine if I decide to ship the parts. |

Very nice Mike. After seeing Paul Sloan do this with his silver 308 I decided that I would do it to my red one during this engine mod process, while the car is off the road. I wasn't sure if it would look as good on the red cars, but now I can see it does. I think I'm gonna keep the GTS louvres though with mine. Cool. |

David: No, it required some molding to get that bottom part of the louvers to form an "L" shape and cover the rubber around the quarter window so it looked properly "finished". You can see closeups of the louvers at www.mlcpartners.com/ferrari/308GTSB If you're thinking about having it done, I'd send yours to the same guy that did mine, now that the "prototyping" has already been accomplished!

Mike - I love that GTB look! I have the same paint scheme on my dark blue '79 GTS, only the deck lid wing and the radiator louvers are blue as well. I really like your side window louvers. Was this just a "cut, sand & paint" sort of job? |

Steve, as far as the rear quarter windows, it helps a little, but the factory GTS louvers were really designed at the correct angles to give pretty good visibility anyway, though they don't look like it from the outside.

Very clean. There aren't many F exterior mods that look like they could've been presented/discussed in a Pininfarina meeting -- but this is one IMO. Nice work Mike. Have the open rear windows changed your perception of the rearward visibilty? |

Mike, Here in Germany most 355GTS owners seem to have a coloured top. In my opinion it just looks much better. Congratulations to your car!(Although I dont like the US rear bumper, way too big!) Looks just perfect and gives your GTS really a better and smoother line. Wonder why not more GTS owners do it like you. Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller P.S. Geez, the 308 is still a wonderful car! Design is just timeless and very classic. Definitely a car with character! |

Barry, thanks. Right, nothing is irreversible, because I still have my original parts... these louvers and targa top I had modified were taken off my next door neighbor's QV (along with a few other spares for my car) after he crashed it, before it was sold for scrap. |

Did Jim do the louvers too, or just the smooth/painted top? |

My 308GTSi/QV is all dressed up for Halloween... and it's going as a GTB! I welcome opinions. I've always liked the open air feature of the GTS, but if you have to have the top on, I think most folks like the smoother lines of the GTB. Now I have the best of both worlds! Here's my 308QV GTS/GTB "hybrid" look with modified louvers and smooth painted targa.
