I'm suprised if thats F engineerings view on HUD's applied to cars.

They are and have been deriguer for years in combat aircraft. Like F1 type gear shifts, HUD's would allow the driver to concentrate efforts on road safety and driving rather than having to look down at dashboard located instrumentation. I'm struggling to see why F would have any issue with that, surely it would heighten the driving experience.

I'm sure if F1 or CART racecars had windscreens then HUD's would have been introduced years ago and would have filtered through to many road cars by now. Have to admit I'm not a great fan of US cars but good on GM for doing this on some of their cars!

Heads up started as a option on the 99 corvette I think. Now it is standard on all corvettes. It's pretty cool you can also adjust how bright it is and what info comes up.My uncle has one.

Dave,
I used to own a Pontiac with a HUD. I loved it. A while back I wrote to Forza magazine asking if a HUD was planned for any future F-cars. They talke to the engineering folks at Ferrari who said that a HUD is not likely on any F-car since it would take too much away from feeling the car through the seat of your pants.

What car is that?
I've never seen one of those in a car before. Howcome I dont know about this feature?!

And yeah, the Enzo should have one of those, but I doubt it will.

Great pics btw Rob.

Love that HUD (head up display). Is one of those part of the Enzo specification, it should be.
