Salvage titles are generally considered a 1/3 deduct, even if the car is perfectly repaired. Another deduct is the boxer paint. Even if you like it, it devalues the car by the amount it would cost to make it all red again, probably about 3K. If I were interested, I would deduct another 5K minimum for unknowns. Engine fires are very serious on Ferraris because the aluminium is easily melted or distorted from heat. My guess is the insurance company really figured it needed a new motor plus other stuff costing more than 30K for them to total it. At the very least, I would want to see the adjuster's report. If I couldn't, I would run away. With so many nice 328's out there, I se no point in this car even at the current bid.
My 2 cents.

Well, it had to have some sort of paint work, as the boxer paint trim was never offered on the 328s. So we can start there with why it has had body work!?

Stay away from it. It doesn't look very good either.

The risks are it's a piece of sh*t car. If you live in the neighborhood check it out in person. If not, what's a plane ticket compared to a $30k plus disaster?

I think the current price of $ 27,500 is the max one should pay for this car. It does have a salvage title and burned cars are always tricky. No matter where.
They have a reserve probably set at $ 35,000 which is the value for the same car with a straight title.

What are the risks involved in this car?

Thanks, Dave
