Martin,

Did you ever get that Challenge Grille from MHT? What did the final cost end up being? Was it under $766? How was the quality? Did they package it well for shipping?

I need to order one and that is the best deal I've heard... but was waiting to hear your experience.

Thanks!

Hmmm...you guys might want to get the front Challenge grills also. Keeps debris from entering the duct and save the radiators from damage. They cost me about $600 for the pair through FNA. Perhaps a group rate discount is possible for you? :-)

Hold on guys.I am accumulating prices from many sources and will post them in the next day or so.Even with expensive air shipping the euro sources are much less than U.S quotes.Should have all the data by tomorrow or Fri.

Can you remove just the frame and keep the lights in?
Thinking loud here, why not remove the frame when on the track and put it back on when you leave the track? Who cares how the car looks on the track? Does not work obviously if you have to remove the lights as well. Never looked at that closely.

brings us back to the equation: A Ferrari piece is 10x of what you think it should cost!

Slow down. ;)

I keep the RPMs between 4k and 6k. It is above 6k that the engine generates excess heat. But below 4k, the oil cooling doesn't seem as effective. I've found that by going to 3/4 acceleration in the 4k to 6k range, it cools fastest.

Once back into normal range, I'll then run it hard, but keep it below 7k. If I get above 7k, it'll heat right back up again.

Its a nearly-flat, perforated piece of metal that I will want to paint to match my car in any case. Why would I want to pay over $1000 for about $60 of aluminum? Just so I can say its "new"? Hell, I didn't even buy my car new... why would I care if the brake light frame is new?

I think a new challenge grill goes for $1000-1500. If you bought a $170k+ car, I don't see why you wanna get a used one instead of a new one.

I don't want to be a pessimist but, finding a used one off a wreck car will be difficult if not impossible in good condition. If you should find one, whats the cost of a used grill opposed to a new one anyway? Who knows, There may be a after market model available for a fraction of the cost.

Good Luck

I, too, am interested in finding a Challenge Grill. Anyone know of any totalled 360's? Anyone have a Challenge Grill but would prefer a normal grill? (I'll trade)

(I need the Grill because my 360 is constantly overheating at the track; I am hoping the grill will solve that problem.)
