OEM and Aftermarket are totally separate activities with a lot of manufacturers. So a manufacturer can easily respond with one thing to a consumer question while the situation could be entirely different at the OEM level. |

I had an interest on those seats awhile back when I was looking for replacements. I've learned that the Sports seats (the reclining carbon fiber seats) are made by Sparco but exclusively for Ferrari. They are not available elsewhere. Recaro also had a version (355 Sport Seats) but are no longer available.

>> We currently do not produce a carbon or fiberglass reclining seat, << This from Sparco's web site: "Only Sparco carbon seats shells are manufactured with an autoclave system. Sparco has proven to be one of world's most reliable, technically advanced, and expert manufacturers of car seats. Sparco race seats have been chosen by World Rally Championship and Rally marathon winners such as Lancia, Peugeot, Ford, and Mitsubishi over competitors from around the world. Sparco seats have won in nearly all of these competitions over the past 13 years. Sparco's exceptional seats are a result of the enormous investment in research and development carried out in our laboratories. Samples of frames and shells are taken at random from the production lines, and subjected to destruction tests using special machinery specifically designed by our technicians. These tests ensure that seats and their parts meet the standards of resistance set by Sparco." |

This is what Sparco emailed to me..."We currently do not produce a carbon or fiberglass reclining seat, however, this may change in the near future. Please check our website from time to time for product updates.". I guess I'll wait to check ebay or the classifieds. Taso

I haven't seen a carbon or fiberglass reclining seat in their website. I sent an email to Sparco, I'll let you know what I find out. Thanks for your help. Taso |

No applolgy necessary. I am involved in the auto parts manufacturing business and you would be amazed how much 'outsourcing' takes place with all of the automakers. It is just way to expensive to design, test, and build, everything in-house. |

Tino, that may explain the wait! If Ferrari is covering the seats that explains why they are only available through Ferrari. I wonder if Sparco made the seats I have, they are not badged or marked by Sparco. Interesting trivia, I have alawys been told they were Ferrari manufactured, I may have to apologize to Tazio! |

Speaking of your Ferrari room, Chris, we haven't bugged you or pictures of your desk lately. How about pictures of the Ferrari room too, while you're at it? |

I asked the question last month during a visit to the factory. All CF shells are made by Sparco for Ferrari including the Sport seats in the 360. Of course, all the upholstery is made in Maranello.

Taso, sorry I do not know the weight but I could find out. I am not selling them. I have put 4 of them on bases and use them at my game table in my Ferrari room.

Do you know the weight of the seat? I had a Momo racing seat, bit tough getting in and out of car. The reclineable look more street friendly. Trying to get weight down in my Koenig TR so I could keep up with William's 512TR when I see him on the track. P.S. Are you selling any sets? |

Tazio, you may have knowledge about the seats in the Enzo, but the seats I have are manufactured by Ferrari. It would be better if Sparco was the manufacturer as the wait time from Ferrari can run 1 year on the F40 seats. Chris |

I should have stated that the Series Speciale seats and US F40 seats do recline |

Sparco Manufactures the seats for the Enzo and are 'probably' private labelling the 575 seats for Ferrari. They are leaders in Carbon Seat production and make several models that recline. |

The seats are made by Ferrari. I have 3 sets of carbon fiber seats from Ferrari. One set is in leather from the 348 Series Speciale, another set is from a F40, my most recent set is from a euro F40, these do not recline. I do not know how much the 575 seats are, but the seats above are about $2,885 each. Contact the dealer, he can price them to you. |

Anybody knows who makes the carbon fiber reclineable seat I see pictured in the 575/550, or who makes one ? Believe I've seen a few 911 turbos with them also. Can't find a racing seat that reclines and made of carbon fiber or fiberglass. Thanks, Taso |
