Yeah, I did my installation myself too. It was about a 4 beer job. It was the most gratifying thing I did to the car by a long shot. She's soundin' SWEEEEET!

You can do it yourself and DO NOT need to remove the back bumper , geez, I did mine myself and literally took me less than 40 mins. to do it. If I was to do another one I could probably do it in half the time. If a shop quotes you more than an hour, they are milkin monkeys taking your money, hey, I know how shops prices labor and a good mechanic can do it half the time the book says. I've done plenty of body parts removal and can do them less than a 3rd time what the books quote.

I just removed my cats on a early 348ts. I removed the entire muffler system. After 12 years the bolts were well rusted. I used a torch to heat before removing. I have a 2 muffler system and am a certified tech. This however was my first 348 to do. It took me 3 1/2 hours start to finish with my son helping hold things. It was not hard but I was surprised at the lenght of time it took.

What I am saying is the dollar per hour is relative to the competency of the mechanic doing the job.

Also ferrari doesn't make it easy to unscrew things. The exhaust clamps were twisted in a way that was hard to get a socket on so we had to use a wrench and unscrew by hand. We did not brake any bolts but if somethings snaps it would take more time.

So the price may very. I would expect that I would have figured 4 to 5 hours if I was giving an estimate. If it took less I would bill less. Also keep in mind you don't want anyone to rush thru this process. There is some expensive paint to fix if the tech rushes and scrathes something....

On a 348 the bumper does not need to come off and it is a 2 hour job at most. Any muffler shop can do it for much less than a Ferrari dealer. It's not rocket science.

I got the estimate from Ferrari of Washington 5 hrs@101 per hour. May be a little steep, but don't know of an independent in the area.

Thanks

It is about a 2-3 hour job. The bumper should come off. A dealership should not charge more than $350.

I was also told bumper needed to come off for the 348. Me and a few buddies did it in a few hours without removing the bumper! Not sure about 355.

Took me 60 mins with a 3 year old handing me wrenches on my T Cab...probably easier for me as there is more room back there but I would guess no more than an hour or two at shop prices if you were having someone else do it.

You can do it yourself; other have on the 360, don't see why you couldnt on a 355. But, if you had a 'shop' do it, I would venture to guess $500-600, as the bumper comes off.

Can anyone tell me what a fair cost would be for an installation of a tubi for a 355. Just bought a used one and was wondering what I should be looking at.

Thanks
