So apparently American styling actually does appeal to some people in our country. It all makes sense now, I figured they must be doing these things for a reason.

Not a drive thru story but a good one anyway. I was in middle school in Fairfax, Virginia and one of our neigbors boyfriend had a white Lamborghini Countach. As I was walking to get on the bus I saw it parked in the parking lot and asked if he could give me a ride one day, well a few days later he did. He picked my friend and I up (really small guy) and took us for a drive, he brought her up to about 90 mph and we were both in heaven! He then proceeded to take us to school, so I was smiling ear to ear at this point. We drove up in front of the school as the buses were (which I usually rode on) and all the kids were glued to the windows looking and pointing. I opened the door and steped out very carefully and all I hear is a big scream coming from the buses, it was priceless! That day I made about 100 new friends...it was one of the best moments in my life and will never forget it!

This other story has nothing to due with a exotic, well sort of. My friend and I took a trip to New york this past June and on the return trip we were in some hick town in Tenn. We pulled into a gas station to fill up and at this particular station it had one of those little restaurants "Billy Bob's Chicken N' Stuff" somehting to that effect. Anyway, we pulled in and see about 8 people rush to the window and start gawking and pointing. We both get out, my friend pumps the gas and I proceed to go inside, a little scared to tell you the truth. I walk in and it was dead silence, everyone was looking at me like I beamed down from space or something. There had to be at least 30 people in there, you could hear a pin drop at this point. I go to the restroom and as the door closes, a roar of converstation breaks out. All I hear is mumbling, so I could not tell what was said. I finish my business and step out without anyone noticing and began to walk to the exit door. At this time I start to hear what is being said and a little boy speaks out: "hey pa isn't that one of dem' suv thing-a ma jigs?" Pa replies: son I'm not sure, but it sure is bright!" Women in the background says: "where do ya think them boys are from?" Pa says: "they must be city folk" So at this time I figured out what the hell these peole where so intrigue about, our Bright red Pontiac Aztec. If you have seen one of these things, it has to be the ugliest SUV ever made-no offense to anyone, my personal opinion. I walked outside and told my friend what was going on and he started to roll in laughter. I said whatch what happens when you go inside...he walks in and the same thing happened, dead silence. He walk around the store to pick up some snacks and drinks and all these people did was stare. He paid and left. We get in and by this time the crowd grew and the whole front side of the store was filled with dumb founded looks. We drove off and the crowd proceeded to file outside, we looked back and waived. We had to have laughed for good half hour, one of the highlights of the trip I wanted to share.

-sorry so long.

hey willis, i know exactly what you mean. the eastside is so snobbie yuppie, i think the only gawk you get is driving around in a yugo ("woah, what's that doing here?")

While not burger snot, i have gone to a mickey-dee's before, and on the very rare occasion that i am going to krunchy-krap donuts, i always take the f50. I always thikn it will get me through line faster, but it never does. ;)

Drove my 360 to the drive-thru bank teller a few times. No reaction at all. Parked it at the post office and no one really give a crap. Must be because I'm in Redmond and everyone's got Microsoft stock (or stock options) coming out of their ears. LOL! :-)

My Europa is 42" high. It also has developed a backfire when I turn it off; a rather loud one. I went to an automatic teller recently and even at the lowest setting, I couldn't reach it. I used the handbrake and got out, but that thing isn't worth a sh*t and the car started rolling. I jumped in and turned it off to set it in gear. BANG! A second later, two security gurads came out of the bank, hands on pistols. I had to explain what happened....I don't know who was more relieved, me when they didn't draw on me or them that I wasn't blowing up the machine!! They did like the car though.

I've never personally seen it, but I think there was a Car & Driver article a long time ago that showed a Lambo, Ferrari, and something else going through a drivethru. I think they were doing a supercar shootout. What I do remember is how unnatural it looked for one (or three) of those cars going through the line. So when I design a restaurant for universal access, should I make a lower window specifically for "vertically challenged" f-cars?

I remember about a year ago I was in my butt-ugly college level car (aka station wagon) with my friends and we were about to pull into a drive thru when a yellow F355 tucked in ahead of us. Best drivethru ever :-)

I've always enjoyed watching the reaction on peoples faces when you pull up in a fast food joint with a nice car...
A friend of mine took me out for the day in his Diablo Roadster..We pulled into a Wendy's for a bite to eat...Everyone inside ran to the window to see who we were...It was great..
We went in and ordered our food.. Going out was just as exciting..People love watching those doors open (you better be graceful gettn in)
I guess they saw the car at fast food place and thought, those guys are no different from us..

I have been to the Jack in the Box and ordered the 99 cent Jumbo Jack and 99 Cent fries. Hey just cause I drive a Ferrari doesn't mean I have to spend a fortune to eat. Oh one other nice trick when there are two of you eating is. Order a large drink with no ice, then when you get two the window ask for two cups of ice. This way you get to drinks with ice for the price of one. I learned that one from a guy that drives his Rolls Royce to the fast food joint. .......Or was it his Bently?

Nothing like that Tubi sound to wake up the folks through the drive through. If you drive your Ferrari, might as well take it through the drive through, I always do.

If we are out and get the munchies I will stop in at a Wendys or Arbys but go inside to eat. The booths along the outside of the dining area are ideal to view your F-car. I like to watch others in the parking lot look at the car and sometimes go up and look in the window... as for drivethrus I did not know it was humanly possible to receive your goodies at the window without risking serious bodily injury lol. I may have to try this.

Mmmm... Tacos. It's car like anything else, enjoy to drive it. (just no cup holders for the super sized drink order) If anything, the drive though window attendant gets a kick out of seeing a Ferrari & you made their day (if their a car nut). Especially stretching your left arm to receive your munches. At the Bell, I hope they don't give you a hard time for ordering off the .99 cent menu.

Took my 308 to Burger King. They had a hard time finding me below the counter...And yes, it takes a lot of contortion to get your food, but nothing compared to a drive-through ATM, that's a real killer.

Anyway, on my way home I made the rule never to eat in the car: Somebody coming out of side street cutting in front of me made me slam the brakes and smoke the tires. Food was flying everywhere. Luckily only on aftermarket carpets, but still. Lesson learned: Fast food is ok, but eat it right away or stack it away safely. Hey, these cars got no cup holders!

I take mine to Taco Bell all the time. I especially love the contortion act I have to perform to reach up to the pickup window!

Last week I went to Subway with my Testarossa (currently the only car I have), and I used my completed Subway stamps card to get a half price deal. When I was leaving I overheard one of the workers make some snide remark regarding people with Ferrari's shouldn't bother with subway stamps.

Maybe she was right, but I wanted to tell her I wouldn't be able drive an F-Car if I spent money unnecessarily.

My ferrari has been through the drive throughs at both Taco Bell and McDonalds. Don't eat in the car, food sits on the passenger floormat, etc. I wouldn't specifically drive my car to go get fast food, but if I've been out driving, am on my way home, and have the munches, then...

why do people give me grief for taking my ferrari through the taco bell drive through? just b/c i have a ferrari means i can no longer enjoy fast food and clog my arteries? (although i usually get the soft chicken tacos which aren't too bad for you). if you're out in your f-car and get hungry, wouldn't all of you make a quick stop at McDonalds or taco bell????
