ross, it may be faster to a given speed, but it is slower to a given point. IE, if you race a Murci and a SL55 for one mile, the Murci will get there first.

The latest EVO mag from the UK has a good story on the Enzo. They don't have anything bad to say about it at all. I had a good look over the car at the Sydney motorshow last night. Technically it's an incredible car. I still love the styling of the F-40 and F-50 that were there. All three of those made the 360 look a little plain. I'll try to post the photos in the next few days

posted this in the o/t section regarding this mag

basically the sl55 blows the doors off everything. beats the murci to 300km/h, beats the 550 at everything, misses out top speed honors to the murci by 3mph (202 vs 205). pretty unbelievable given the weight etc....(ferrari take note......)
one question i have though is that every other article i have seen on this car says the top speed is electronically ltd to 155mph, and yet the one in this test got to 202? how do you get rid of the restrictor? do you have to replace the chip and doesn't that void your warranty?

Some friends and I went down to an ex-airport south of London last Wednesday to be part of the audience in the filming of the first episode of the new series of Top Gear. Big waste of time with lots of standing around in a studio (and sadly for the six of us who took our F-cars, no burning around their test track) whilst Mr. Clarkson lectured the camera as usual. Tiff doesn't seem to be taking part so far, but perhaps he has the sense only to turn up for the 'burning around their test track' sections of the show...
The one compensation was to walk all around and look into, a Pagini Zonda C12 in the studio. Wow, is that a fighter plane with the wings taken off and fitted with wheels, or what! Never mind the F1 of ten years ago, that's the beast that the Enzo has to better. The show, which aired Sunday but is repeated some time this week, also contained a "Murcielago vs. Zonda" drag down the runway to over 200mph plus comparison of laptimes round the track. No prizes for guessing that the Lambo was made to look like a Volvo with the hand-brake left on....

See the BBC Top Gear website for more info.

Tiff is great! Is he still doing Top Gear? (The BBC I have is the American version...)

What did he think about it?

Dave... do you have a scanner? Or at least post Tiff's conclusions and inevitable comparison to other supercars... I can't get Autocar anywhere around here... do they have a website?

Thanks!

Ernesto

Latest issue has coverage/views of the Enzo, driven by Tiff Needell. Also good low down shot of yellow Enzo being driven elsewhere in same issue of the magazine.
