By: SPEED Channel staff

New York, N.Y., October 27

Grant Maiman, one of the four drivers chosen for the inaugural Red Bull F1 Driver Search, is on his way to Zurich, Switzerland, to join Jenzer Motorsport GmbH, a leading Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup team, to begin testing over the next several weeks.

With the Jenzer deal done, Red Bull Energy Drink is in the process of negotiating the other deals with teams in other European championships for the other three Driver Search winnersPaul Edwards, Joel Nelson and Scott Speed. An announcement identifying these teams will follow shortly.

Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup is a single-marque series. All cars are the same Tatuus chassis powered by Renault 2.0-liter engines making 180hp.
Formula Renault has recently produced F1 talent such as McLarens Kimi
Raikonnen.

Maiman was driving from his hometown in Wisconsin to Daytona Beach, Fla.,
where he shares an apartment with another racer, when he got the call about the Jenzer deal getting done: "Youre headed to Switzerland Thursday, program officials told him, break out the passport again!" Maiman responded, "Great, Im ready to rock. FedEx me some clean underwear, OK?"
