Ken, I have a 1990TR and my POH says something close to what I am using (one of the few things the manual got right.. ) -- below 160 MPH use 37 both front and rear. And when above 160 use 40 front/43 rear. Interesting that the 1990 TR POH also has pressures listed for the metric european tires and they are lower (34 PSI) -- read the wrong column with Goodyear eagles and you will be underinflated. The 512TR is 18 inch wheels etc so you will definitely differ in pressure just make sure you are reading the proper pressures for the tire type. Michael |

you guys have piqued my interest here regarding inflation. i have always run mine at what it said in the handbook which i think is around 32 and 34. i can understand the handling improvements brought about by higher tire pressure, but doesn't this affect tire wear abnormally, and (assuming these are cold tire pressures) what do the pressures get to at high speed and don't you approach some sort of blowout more easily at these higher pressures? |

I run 37 front and 40 rear and I think it handles great. 34- 35 front works well also but the difference is only noticeable above 100. Steering is more precise and corrections can be made finer at 37 when at higher speeds. When it gets down to 34 front it sometimes feels a little bit woobly in the steer to me. One day the tech at a Ferrari dealership put them to 32 front and 34 rear and I thought they up my suspension and steering -- yep it was a truck James. Fixed that in 5 minutes. |

Dr. George - it took me 12 years to figure out that I had to increase the pressure in the tires exactly as you stated. I use to think that the car handled like a truck. Now that I am running more pressure, it is a lot more fun to drive. I'm a slow learner, and don't like to rush into things. Jim S. |

Here is the yellow beast that flew by me at 110 during a nice quite Sunday drive. Bruce, you weren't worried about Hutch because you make him look like he's standing still (double yellow lines??). Anyway, Linda's 328 held together even under the vacuum created when you passed us.

Sorry for getting carried away.....my opinion only...I love all Ferraris, for the record! I just got back from Modena/Marenella, did the Ferrari tour, store ,etc, and as we were leaving the store, we saw a red/black ENZO at the traffic light. He was reving the engine and literally peeled out.....what a blast! I have loads of pictures on a CD. Now to figure out how to load them for your enjoyment. |

The TR rules when compared to the 3 series V-8's!!! Keep the front tires up at 34#---rears at 40#, the TR handles great. Since putting on my custom exhaust, the sound at 3000RPM and higher is awesome! No way a v-8 can approach the charisma and scream of the TR! |

"ever-cool" i love it, thanks for the good words hutch, and im glad you finally drove that marque..the high speeds didnt bother me as i saw you were experienced and well versed in driving a manual and to watch you enjoy your 1st tr drive..i will definetly be there on your search for your tr as soon as you give me the word.. william, not that i am a authority on f-cars, and yes the tr is a little work in turning the car, BUT once you have made your direction, its like you are on another planet..and the hardest part about driving a tr is if you are going to test those 12 cylinders at full throttle... bruce |

i agree the tr is more powerful, but the dino and the 8 cylinder cars are far more nimble. having both a tr and a dino, i would prefer to drive the dino over the tr the majority of the time. the dino is very easily manuverable and drives like a gocart, where as the tr requires far more input from the driver. |

Hutch, get one but get the right one! A good TR is better than all of the V8 Dinos-308,348,355,360 etc. Don. |

Now I know why you are all always so happy... The ever-cool Bruce Wellington gave me a go behind the wheel of his '88 TR this weekend. That is one hell of a ride!! Bruce guided me on some nice smooth sloping roads that straightened out and the TR was enjoyable all the way. I think the TR enjoyed the straighter parts where I excercised those 12 cylinders all the way up over 100 (even broke a double yellow to pass... BIG SMILE!!). All the while Bruce stayed cool and enjoyed the ride. Bruce, Thank you for the drive. All you other TR guys out there, I'm envious. I might just have to join you in the near future... I'll keep you posted and seek your advice on my potential future upgrade. Thanks!! - Hutch
