BTW: the automation is really great, especially the horse. Where do you find this stuff? I would appreciate a good source for it.

G.Peters,
Half the reason I made the comment was simply to see people get stewed up. I love this forum; there are lots of informed people who share a wealth of information. But it gets taken too seriously sometimes (like this post). I am not a professional racer and have not won any races. I am a Ferrari enthusiast. Additionally, I do not need to rely on car forums for female companionship. I come to this board to share my enthusiasm for Ferraris.

Happy motoring.

uuum k. i also believe in the "if you don't like it don't look"school of thought, however i don't think it should be grounds for personal attacks.i have known many women that can outdrive quite a few guys including yours trully.i think that driving skill is a matter of hand/eye coordination, balance and common sense, unfortunatly common sense is not so common, and has nothing to do with the individual drivers genitalia.i'm aware that i'm a newby here but i felt like offering my .02.i also think that beautiful "chicks" driving beautiful cars absolutely ROCK! IMHO

Kevin ,
Where do you race and what titles or races have you won. What entitles you to claim your a "driver".

Great so now it's just guys here. To quote Bart Simpson " Something about camping with a bunch of guys alone in the forest together seems a little gay".

being a lurker here, Nika's post always made me laugh and to be honest, I like womens with great tastes in cars and Nika is one of them. When I see a woman driving a Ferrari, I tell myself "wow, she's got taste and I'm sure she drives it hard too"

One of the woman 360 owners here in Vancouver is a real estate agent and believe me, I've heard her screech her tires downshifting at the end of the bridge on several occasions! Doesn't mean that because a woman has a Ferrari that she doesn't know how to drive it.

P.S. Jacques Villeneuve has always been my favorite F1 drive

might as well get in trouble.
I just looked at the picture, from this chatter I thought it was going to be something rank.
I've seen worse then that on magazine COVERS in line at the Supermarkets. Ken, nothing wrong here. Even my wife agrees.
You can see that much walking on the NJ beaches, it's a funny picture actually.

Man take it easy.

Bravo Frank Parker! Nika, relax, this is all good stuff. It is fine that you disagree with someone elses humor (there is nothing wrong with that). So either don't entertain it or write your thread about your displeasure, but don't cut off your nose despite your face. If you don't like what you hear on your radio while you are driving, just change the station, don't throw the Pioneer in your 308 out the window. Look at things for what they are - and laugh a little.

Saddle River area, the biggest town I can think of near me is Mahwah, that's next to me to the west. Paramus is like 5-10 min south.

No secret service yet, just a slacking college student in CT. I'm always so sketchy about giving out info on the internet, not because of you guys, but there could be some stalker on here or something. He could be like hmmm, nice 19 year old guy with a Ferrari would make a good date. Then I go home one weekend and next thing I know I have a boyfriend. I'm against those same sex things (excluding when between hot girls of course) so I don't want this to happen.

Northeastern NJ, I have yet to see one and I'm on the road a lot. I thought that's how it was everywhere, interesting. I do see a woman with a 360 spyder though quite a bit (she used to have a 355 spyder).

And yes, northeast weather does suck in a Ferrari or shoveling sense. I think it's supposed to snow in CT tomorrow and they after. I have a test on Thurs, other than that though I can spend the rest of the day doing donuts in the jeep so I welcome the snow.

Here in NJ I have yet to see a C5 owned by a woman, or driven by one, and there are quite a few (both women and C5s). C4s though it seems a third of them are driven by women.

Nika, I never passed judgement on you nor did I make an attack toward you or your website. I only found it odd that someone with a website that refers to women as "chicks" would object to scantily clad women. And while I acknowledge that some may use the term chick to refer to a good looking female, in my experience it is used to refer to a female of questionable character, i.e., a loose women. And, I hope my daughters future ambitions are to be considers ladies and not chicks.

Oh, for goodness sake. Frank, Ross, & Nika, can't you just kiss & make up or just ignore each other?

I will agree that the 2nd photo was a bit over the top, and should have been in the OT section...but Nika, you are a pillar of this board community. Please come back & ignore Frank if he pisses you off. It's only October--hibernation need not start for at least another month.

Your site, and its outreach to women motorsports enthusiasts, is great. My wife loves it! In fact, this past weekend, we met Danica Patrick at Roebling Road!

First of all -- read my first post ...I said HIBERNATION.....I thought if the site is turning into this I'd rather come back in the Spring when my car is back and I have something to contribute.

The picture of the blonde under the car is hilarious - I DO NOT have an issue with that...it was the FOLLOWING picture that was posted that didn't "turn my crank"

but my opinion of one (again I stress the one of the woman with her cooooooch in the air) NOT the other was made into a personal attack by Frank - A personal attack towards the integrity of my website and me.

2 completely different issues. I would of respected his opinion if he said - "hey that pix is ok....it doesn't show anything....I have 1000 of thse at home"...BUT to pass judgement on me and my website without reason - sorry but I do find that vicious. Am I being too sensitive to such an attack?
maybe - but if someone worked as hard as I have to gain respect as a women in the automotive industry you'd understand why...

OT - WHy blondes can't fix cars - look at the last pix and trust me - it's not a bikini babe next to a car.....it's not even art-nudity.....it was just one thing to make me want to take a time out of the testosterone here.

Many of you and your families have become friends - I really do appreciate that and like I said - I'll see you at the races.

I feel partly responsible I am the one that posted the blond girl under the car, and I do apologize to you for posting the picture. I was not in good tast and a picture like that is not appropriate for a site like this one.

I am sorry and I hope you accept my apology.

This place frequently amazes me. The size of some of the egos in here exceeds too many member's love for the point of the site: Ferraris. I have never seen a bigger bunch of thin skinned babies in my life. Bill Sawyer said it best: some things in some venues are not as PC as they may be in other venues. So someone makes a post, picture or otherwise, that upsets someone. Then the flames and posturing starts. Guys and girls: LIVE WITH IT!!!! I've been offended by a few comments too but I let it slide. Why stir the pot? To stroke your own ego most likely!

In life, you're going to be offended. If you love Porches in a Ferrari room you'll get some crap. Or even (GASP) if you own a Lotus! God forbid if there's a picture of an artificially enhanced female in a suggestive pose in a male testosterone heavy web site. Oh my, there goes Western Civilization!

Nika, fankly I expected better from you. The picture wasn't THAT bad and if people don't like the word "Chicks" then that's their problem. I like your site and would even if it was called "Killing Kittens". I'm sure lots of people thought the Beatles sucked too so there's no accounting for taste. I doubt John Lennon cared very much that The New York Times thought Sgt. Pepper was garbage when it was released. Good thing HE didn't pack up his guitar and go home.

So lets all ignore what we don't like, and talk about what we do. This particular thread got me on my soap box; I'll step down now.

My wife read this and her comments are "its situations like this that get women a bad name, we aren't all pathetic feminists with shoulder chips you know" Relax for jeez sake.

Don't you just hate it when people read too much into stuff and get all touchy, playing the sexist/racist/other ists cards....pathetic and insecure.

Did I miss something? I consider a "chick" as far as female human goes as a young good looking female, would you call an old lady a chick or a plump one? for real... I haven't used that term since high school but then again everyones mentality is different and I don't care how someones mind works, it's their problem not mine. Racerchicks is easy to remember as a site and sounds slick, better than girlieracers or femaleracers or womenracers. Oh well I'm sure she's got better things to do, I got to get myself to do the same but it's gonna take something I don't know to get me off this site, we'll see....

It will be a loss to the F.C. if you leave because so many of us enjoyed the chat time with you. Wish you would stay but you have to make the final call. Don't let one incident change your thinking about "all" of the guys on F.C.. Just for the record, I don't think that calling a woman a "chick" is any different than calling a man a "guy." It isn't as though some man disrobed the woman in the picture. It appears that she voluntarily dressed that way. Why should a man be chastized for looking at it or posting it. If anyone wants to get angry, they should direct it towards the woman in the picture. She is the one that is open to the opinion of whether she is degrading women. I bet she dresses that way to impress or attract men and I bet if only women would be present, would have selected a different attire. Much ado over nothing if you ask me.

Just got back from food shopping. If you want to see major breast nudity... I sugest you look at Vouge, Glammor and all the WOMEN's fashion mags on the rack while your standing in line at the grocery store (yes someone was writing a check for two items and I had nothing better to do). Chicks have way better sexy photos of nude women in their mag's ads. I never find that in my car, boat, and scuba... supposedly guy oriented publicaions. men like looking at sexy women..and I guess women like looking at sexy women also :-)

We live in a strange society. Popular humor is heavily weighted with sexual content but, if you tell the same joke in the office that Jay Leno told to millions of television viewers the night before, you may risk losing your job for sexual harassment. The movie industry relies on nudity to sell tickets, but many of the same people who gladly view those movies are offended when presented with scantily clad women (or men) in other venues. The very thought of political correctness infuriates many of us, but when we are the ones being offended we can't understand how the other person can be so insensitive.

In many ways, we live in a lowest common denominator culture that is defined by our LACK of culture.

Knowing when and where to draw the line is difficult at best. When in doubt, we should err on the side of propriety.

Nika has been a great asset to this site, and I would hate to see her leave. This isn't the first time she has been offended by what she has seen, but in the past she has tried to deliver her message with humor and sarcasm, like her post of Jacques Villeneuve's picture a few months back. I don't blame her if she has decided that we aren't ever going to change, because we probably won't.

If I were a woman I probably wouldn't want to hang out here either.

Nika,

I totally understand your position. Wait until Frank's for young daughters turn into four young ladies, and then let's see if he understands what your beef is.

I hope you come back to this board, and continue to contribute.

I find this thread puzzling. Apparently one of our regular participant is a woman(Nika)and she is upset regarding a picture posted on this board which she preceived as degrading women.(I have not seen the picture and really do not care to see it).

Her website then became an issue and she now does not wish to participate on this forum.

Nika, you need to judge whether the information, interaction and satisfaction you experience on this board is worthwhile to you. Do not base your decision on a personal slight (I do not mean to diminish the perceived insult you experienced using this word).

If you do not get the pleasure you desire from the interaction of this board then by all means do not participate. However, if the board is worthwhile to you then I suggest you stiffen your resolve, enjoy and make the most of it!

As a great person once said, "you only live once but if you do it right that is all you need." Don't let little things affect your happiness.

I think we should all calm down a little, some feathers have been ruffled but that's life. I find this site to be extremely mild compared to a number of other high performance/racing sites in its lack of "women degrading" material. I wonder if either of those women really felt degraded when they posed for those shots (I'm assuming at least that the car one was posing as I doubt someone stumbled upon her actually working on her broken down car), or if they got paid for them I wonder if they really were upset about going home with that money. I don't see anything going wrong here, the girl bent over was a on the line, but I don't think over it. I think we all have seen people naked at this point in our lives, and although this place shouldn't turn into Ron Jeremy's hang out, it wasn't anything to get all worked up about. If you don't like it don't look at it, it's not like these posts are that common or in my opinion need to be reprimanded. Pretty much everybody here is an adult and that's part of an adult's life, that's how it is even if some people don't approve. To say that women and cars have no place together is ridiculous, have you ever gone to a car show? looked at a sports car ad on TV? looked at some of the pics in car magazines?

Once again, I'm not saying we should advocate turning this place into a porn palace, but there have been several pics here posted here with women wearing nothing in front of Ferraris so I don't see why this instance deserves so much flack.

Has this site posted an abundance of these pics that Ive missed out on? I hardly ever see a pic like that on this site and now that one got up a big deal is made over it. When it turns into an epidemic of porn somebody wake me up.

If people didn't have easy access to digital cameras, then offending photographs couldn't be taken and the world would be better off. Cameras should be registered or banned altogether. (See sick sniper thread in OFF TOPIC). You guys thought that I was a pest and a trouble maker. Look what you've done now. You've offended Nika and now she will be forced to watch her collection of NASCAR videotapes instead of hanging out on Ferrarichat. Next thing you know, she'll be buying a kit car or lurking on the 4 wheel drive bulletin boards.

the same as your daughters Frank - you tell me.....or unlike me, is THEIR ambition to pose like that other post's picture?

Well educated certainly doesn't mean you are smart my dear - you probably think "Dame" is an insult too - Look that up too www.websters.com.....yes even ELizabeth Taylor was recently made a "Dame".

Nika, so which one of those many definitions do you consider yourself ? I know that throughout my 45 years I as well as most men I have known think of the term "chick" to refer to the type of woman you list last. That being said, I could really care less what you call your website or yourself. Good luck.

Nika...I (and probably many others here as well) have always considered you to be "First Class". As such, you obviously have good taste for the things in life that hold a higher standard over the norm, as evidenced by your taste in fine sports cars . Just a personal observation and my humble opinion. It's very nice having you around on F-chat -- don't leave for too long. Sorry to hear the 308 is already going back into winter storage...just seemed like last month it came out. Keep in touch.

Randy and Niki, so you would think it was fine for some guy to refer to your daughter as a "chick" ? I have four daughters and I would not be the least bit pleased in such a situation. The term chick as it refers to women is derogatory .

Oh - I think the pix of the woman trying to fix the car is hilarious - but as for wanting to see a woman's cooch - no thanks.... I would never post a pix of a guy's unit.....since I'm sure it would embarass you Frank n'est pas?

Now - re: www.racerchicks.com - that where you got vicious.

The site is to promote female racers -- the names pokes fun but in no way insults a woman. I mean Janet Guthrie (1st woman in Indy 500 is fine with it - as are the 100+ other women featured (clothes on - sorry) You'd think they have a problem with it NOT

The site received 1.7 million hits in September alone - see us CARchicks are out there. Notice no ads? It's because I've been funding the site from my own pocket - never saying no to donate some gear to charities. THEY don't have a problem with the name......Seems in the 2 years only 2 people have made the same stupid comment you have - and they were both male.

The integrity of my website I fight for and you will see nothing your daughter would find offensive - in fact we've brought women in Racing to the fore front by my articles that were printed in National papers.

But alas Frank - you make me realize that once in a while the difference between a cactus and a Ferrari is that some have pricks on the INSIDE

over and out

Frank - a site about "chicks" is not degrading since her main goal is to promote those females who are called "chicks" in a casual non-derogative manner.

Stating she is degrading women by having a site called "racerchicks" doesn't seem to come close to the prior post that is referred to in this thread.

Nika is a great chick - and yes I say chick in a casual term. And she gets pointed at because she's female and she gives it a little too, I'm sure. But I think there are some lines in regards to 'taste' and what you think is offensive to someone and what really is.

All I can say is, tone it down and keep things clean for all races and genders. This is just a car forum. You might just scare off the next female.

damn,

I did not see that boating picture. that is kind of extreme guys. come on we have girls here too and our reining queen is pi**ed!

Nika,
you are so cool that most guys forget you are the coolest girl and treat you like one of the boys. Not that I am trying to excuse this boating picture. That is at best questionable taste.

Yes guys, before somebody else gets the bug and wants to post the photo spread of the big breasted lady on the red 355 Spider, we all have seen that! No need to post it! If you want to see it go to: www.FerrariSluts.com

Nika, girl, gotta look out for you!

Come on Nika, not good taste ? How about a woman who has a web site which refers to woman who like cars as "chicks". Now that's class, NOT. I thought a chick was a baby chicken. Isn't referring to a woman as a chick degrading ?

Was it just a few months ago that I wrote how wonderful it was get the 308 out of hibernation!! What a wonderful summer it has been driving the beast ....and even taking it on the track. Thank you guys for your help and insight with the car.......and life...... it's been fun. I know I'm hooked and will ALWAYS have one in my garage.......maybe even a 365GTB4 one day! I will check the clutch and see if the throttle surge I have means anything abnormal. I'll miss that 308 so bad as he goes into winter storage.......it's like having your favorite toy taken away.

I guess will *him* gone.....and "Why Blondes can't fix cars" (which is not even in OT) turning from humorous into ....well......just not in the good taste of a fine Ferrari - I'm going into hibernation too........I always thought I can put up with a lotand laugh about stuff but I guess I have my limits.

And Ross - I guess owning a Ferrari doesn't mean you have class.

Take care everyone - see you at the races
