Every time I see a Leatherique thread, I have to look to see who brings up "whale sperm". It's usually Rob!

Based on many peoples comments and Eric's latest use of the Leatherique products, I purchased thier Rejuv Oil and Pristine Clean. Wow, what a difference! The seats and console in my 308 are now many times closer to the color when it left the factory. Great Products!

Hello Bruce....yes, my kids are going through those energizer bunnies like candy! Looks as if I'll be placing another order sooner than I thought. Also, haven't forgotten about your last e-mail...still researching it...been hectic lately...will contact you soon .

If you have any questions or problems with Leatherique, let me know and I'll try to help out...or I'll ask George (the owner).

I have also found it can take a long time for the order to arrive from leatherique but it is worth the wait. Their leather products are simply the best.

I can vouch for Leatherique... both the products and the company. Don't expect to talk to somone live and in person every time you call, as you will likely have to leave messages... but they do respond.

I spilled some of the Conelly tan dye and had to re-order quickly before another weekend hit.. and the order made it just as promised.

I basically followed the Michael Charness plan on FCA-SE.org, but I decided against the concours look and went for the new look. I took the entire interior down to bare metal to apply Dynamat (audio insulation) and refinished all of the leather. If you thin Leatherique dye 10%, it sprays well with an HVLP sprayer... giving you a very consistant finish. I sprayed the seams first and worked the dye into the threads with a soft toothbrush... fanning it out from the seams. Then I just sprayed the dye evenly... two coats in some areas.

Looks great!

I also used the dye on the speaker grills... and followed up with a few coats of satin polyuretane to protect the color. Same color... with a little more shine... but looks really good. I used two sets of Infinity component speakers and the grills are steel mesh. You can apply as many coats as you would like and not worry about the effect on sound as the grills are still mostly open.

Bruce (and others)...the rejuve oil and pristine clean works wonders on the leather, and the prist. clean works wonderfully on many other surfaces as well (i.e. rubber trim, weatherstripping, vinyl surfaces, convertible tops, tool pouch, etc.). My wife has been using both the oil and cleaner on her leather handbags, shoes, purses, etc. and loves the results. And the best part is the rich leather scent that it leaves on the leather!

To make application a breeze, I purchased a couple of spray bottles -- labeled one for each product. I just spray the oil on one small area at a time and rub, massage, and lather it in by hand (sort of like applying tanning oil). Let it sit in the direct sunlight (or cover the seats with plastic trash bags) for the day. Then follow up with the cleaner by spraying it on and wiping off with a damp terry wash cloth and a small bucket of warm water. For very dirty areas, you might have to scrub with a toothbrush to loosen the grime. Finally, I follow up by drying with a soft terry cloth towel, and lightly buff the leather surfaces (the more you buff, the more it shines).

You can experiment with the products to suit your style -- and there are very comprehensive directions on their website.

One word of caution though...if you've just finished dyeing your leather, then it might be wise to wait a few months before applying the products to those surfaces. The leather should already be well oiled and treated prior to the dye process anyways.

Keep us posted on your progress Simon!

good story - I find that leatherique struggles with some of the logistics of order fulfillment but always makes it up to you in the end. Since they have such a great product it is worth going through some of the hassle. Make sure you aak for the ferrari club discount.

I wanted to say a word of praise for Leatherique, what a great company.

I am based in London and wanted to re-dye my leather. I noticed Verell's post here in the Technical Q&A section (http://server.ferrarichat.com/~ferrari/ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/134850.html?1035512808) and decide to go with Leatherique products. I called them up, placed an order with Krysti (a very helpful and nice lady), decided on the best way of shipping (by post) and waited.

My interior is black with light grey inserts and, as I wanted to match the light grey exactly, I sent a sample swatch to Leatherique and asked them to send me the exact dye.

After three weeks nothing had arrived and I asked Krysti to check the shipping for me. Then suddenly the special order grey dye was delivered. Strange as this was sent a couple of weeks after the initial order. Krysti could not trace the original order, so very kindly offered to re-send the order again without any additional payment! I was impressed and readily accepted. All I had to do now was to wait for the delivery.

Four weeks later there was still nothing. Surely two parcels cannot get lost in the post? The special order dye arrived OK so Leatherique were using the correct address.

I called Leatherique and they were genuinely upset that this had happened. In the meantime I had been researching the Leatherique restoration system and so many people praised it that I was certain that this must be a good system, if only I could get hold of the products. I called Krysti again and asked her if she could send the parcel by Fedex if I placed another order with her. She said the she would certainly Fedex a parcel to me but that I did not need to re-order as Leatherique were happy to supply me with original order (for the third time) if I paid the shipping costs. I was astounded and, of course, accepted this kind offer. As I was pretty certain that Fedex would not loose the parcel I asked if I could buy two extra quarts of rejuvenating oil to go in the parcel. Krysti insisted that these would be included free of charge!!!

This was last Tuesday and on Sunday the parcel arrived.

What can I say? This has to be a great company to do business with and extremely nice people as well. Many thanks to Leatherique, Krysti and George.

If anyone is considering restoring their interior use Leatherique. I have begun the process and am amazed at the results, so the product works as well.

Simon
