355 are not doing 70k at the wholesale auctions. 328's will be mid 30's this winter.

I'd watch for this one to be listed again soon. It's one of the higest mile 355's for sale, but still priced way too low. Sold through a broker who seems to sell mostly beanie baby type items.

Call me a skeptic, but this one's a boomerang.

I believe that's the way it is unfortunately. On a MUCH smaller scale, I bought a 2001 Honda CBR600 F4i last year for $9000. The bike is PERFECT with 7K miles; I want to get rid of it for $5700. No takers...that's 37% depreciation in one stinkin' year! The economy is not fair...

There is some reason to even check the compression on a 30,000 mile car.

could be one that needs a valve job - didn't some one on this site have a problem with a 95 and spend 20k on engine work?

Maybe they are undergoing a "Market Correction" like my stocks are going through.

there might be a story, but i doubt if its anything cataclysmic....sorry all you owners of that model. this is just the way the market is going at the moment. not that i think there will be that much more downside, but this figure doesn't surprise me at all. this is just about what they cost here in the uk (for lhd), and certainly what you could get one for on the continent, so why should it be different in the usa? the prices in the usa have always seemed very inflated imho, so a little crumbling is not out of the question, especially for the quantity of this model that went to the usa.

1. it's not a steal when you have to dump another $30k into it
2. just b/c it has a clear title doesn't mean it wasn't totalled, flooded, etc... i personally know of several idiots that didn't have insurance on f-cars so the car never gets claimed on insurance, hence no salvage title
3. prices of LEGIT 355 GTS's going for 58 this winter?? so what is a clean 328 going to go for? $25k?

the car has a story, even in today's crappy market, a clean 96 355GTS is still worth 75-80 wholesale.

Okay, I saw this a short while back and was stunned. I figured there had to be more to the story, but nevertheless--that isn't too bad of a steal. I figured the lister would pull it out last minute or something.

I still can't believe it.

Stories or not, you could fix a lot of things for the money saved there. It has a clear title so at most it was in a small accident. If you were looking to get a driver it would seem that would be a good choice. I bet your're gonna see some 355s going for lower and lower prices. 360s are still so new that people aren't gonna be getting them and needing to get rid of them, most people that buy $200K cars don't get in financial trouble. The 355 is getting down there though and there are definitely people that buy $90K cars for the weekend that find they need some money, it's too expensive for a weekend car, etc. To be honest, I'd take a 355 over a 360 anyday. Damn, I need to be done with school and get a career based job. The 308 hasn't really changed prices that much since I bought it, but the number of people interested in buying one have gone down a lot. If I was smart and/or psychic I could've seen the economy slowdown, waited a couple years driving the jeep, and stole a 355 from someone needing money. But, then I wouldn't have had so much fun with the 308 and my taking it off the road for half the time I've owned it.

I suspect such prices this winter.US economy is worse than they are saying. Also Europe is slugish and Japan is on verge of collapse. Great time to buy cars cheap.
