Just my $0.02, but I wouldn't do it unless you REALLY want the shields. If you do, make sure to get photos before and after the paint goes on. The typical 355 buyer is very particular about ANY paintwork on the car, as it portends collision repair. A real collision on a 355 is probably good for a 25% discount on the sell price, the possibility that your story about the shields is not truthful may take off 5-10%. Not trying to sound overly negative, but this is my experience. Good luck, I'd like to see the before / after photos if you do it! -Jeff |

Sure you could you magnetic shields but nothing like having the fenders embossed. Expensive yes. At least I got a deal on the shields. |

Speaking of Ferraris in Canada. Ryan, have you seen how many 360 spiders are in this city??? So far, I have seen a blue with blue top, yellow/black top, silver/not sure of top color, red with black top. The owner of the red spider was at the university a few weeks ago giving a presentation and I happened to catch him on the way out to his car. I talked to him for a few minutes and he let me sit it. The plate says BIOINFO on it. I can't believe there are 4 of those cars in Calgary. |

Jim, that P4 is SMOKING!! If you are on the east coast, you HAVE TO bring it out to a track event of ours! I'd love to hear about your car if you have time for a post. Additional pictures would also be GREAT. |

Original paint even on historic cars is extremely rare. This is a pic of my P4 after it won Daytona. Ferrari repainted it and rebodied it may time since then. On a 355 IMHO it could only help value but do document that painting wasn't done to repair an accident... |

I agree Magoo. The bodyshops point was that painting the bumper along with the fender and hood would be a natural extension and not noticable (even to expert) if done properly. That said, I guess I can't see why it would diminish the value as I consider it maintanence. No paint can last indefinitely, especially if driven. |

Frank, In selling a car having been painted is never as good as the orig. paint. The car will definetly sell better and bring more money if it has the orig. paint. This is rare in older cars that is why they bring more money when they have the orig. paint. But if the car is used for street use and gets chips and dings over a period of time painting has to be done to keep it looking nice. |

I don't think they were not an option. I am in Toronto and its costs $3000 (canadian of course) plus shields. He has done about 10 of them. Some 360s and a few 355s. It does look like factory work since it is meticulous work he does. |

Were embedded shields ever an option on F355s? Ernesto |

Most of the guys on here have had the front clip repainted due to road rash. It is quite common. Having the fenders embossed might change the value in some people's minds. Some will think it adds value and others will think it makes the car non original. I personally like the embedded shields. |

I was planning on putting the SF shields on the fenders. The dealer here actually embosses the fenders, as per factory spec. The fenders then need to be repainted and since he has started he recommended to paint the hood and front bumper since I have some stone chips. Although the car will look awesome, will it diminish its re-sell value? Thanks Frank |
