My '77 308 GT4 weighed 3105 with 1/3 tank of gas. Like other owners GT4 I also thought that it would be 250 lbs. heavier. Every road test that I have seen has listed weights in the 3300-3400 lb. range. Maybe it was all that heavy R-12 that has leaked out of the AC system! |

My 1977 308GTB steel body U.S. model... with a full tank of gas, loaded with extra oil, coolant and tools for a trip, and me inside, is 3275 lbs... So that puts my car at around 3000 lbs |

This definitely fall in the 'who gives a rats a$$' catagory, but have you weighed your car? I suspect that newer cars are right on factory spec, but in older cars I think the factory figures are highly suspect, and they seem to vary widely from source to source. To add to this is differences in Euro .vs. US bumpers, etc. So..... My '75 308GT4, US spec, w/the heavy 'thermal reactor' replaced is 3090-3100 lbs with full gas tank, and Ferrari bear in back seat. Light weight K&N air filter helps keep it trim. I used 3 different scales, and all gave consistent results, adjusting for estimated fuel usage getting from one to the next. I was rather surprised, as I thought it would be heavier. |
