Guys, Another question, will I upset the handling of the car if I lower the rear end on its adusters ? Also, Has anyone got 275/35/18 tyres on the rear of their 348 ? What is the best size tyre to run on the 348 with 18" x 9.5" rims ? I do have the last 348 with wide track and 15mm spacers fro koenig. Do 355's run 264/40/18 as standard ? Please help. Thanks |

You can adjust the ride height of the car, both front and back. The shocks are coil-overs and there should be an allen bolt that locks them in place on the adjusters. The allignment will need to be redone after you lower the car, because the cambler will be off and it will cause the inside of the tires to wear out faster. Also someone here did lower their car using Eibach springs. I would just lower it with the stock coil-overs. No need to spend money when you can do it with the existing stuff on the car. |

It was a good time to sell so that I could start saving for a 355. Plus the economy sucks big time right now. |

Yes, the car would benefit from them. its a great looking car, but the space in the back makes it look sort of like a kit car. |

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but why did you sell your very nice 348. I remember looking at all the pics of the car long ago on this site. I thought you had spent a good deal getting the car upgraded. As I'm interested in getting a 348 someday, just wanted to know your reason for parting with such a gorgeous car. Thanks |

It's not diffucult to do, but I would contact a Ferrari dealer to ask about the balance issue. |

David, I can see the adjustable rings on the dampers, but will I upset the balance of the car (weight distribution both sides not being equal) if the adjusters are not set the same ?? It seems dificult to do.. AM I WRONG.. |

Manu, The car is a late 1994 which had the wide track, plus its got the spacers from Ferrari on it and of course 11" diameter rims with 275 x 35 tyres. Probably go up to a 285 or 295 next time. Still a gap there.... |

Justin - do you have wheelspacers on your 348? They will help to fill the arches out a little..... I KNOW that someone does do lowering springs... hang on it'll come to me in a minute. |

I was under the impression that the springs were adjustable on the 348's and you can basically lower the car very easily with a tool from the dealer. Check with your local dealer before spending a bunch of money. |

I was thinking about lowering springs, but no one seems to make them. The orginal ones on the car are eibach. Rang them and they do not do them. Also I think by putting lowering springs on the front would make the front to low and cause tyres to scrap the wheel arches....plus the rear would still be higher then the front.... |

aaaahh I see what you mean Justin. (gorgeous car by the way!) Loads of 348 owners here who would tell you exactly what you need to know but I thought it was just a question of fitting lowering springs. |

I have Ferrari 348 Spider 1994 and wish to lower it. I have 18" Momo wheels on it. The Front of the car is fine. Its the rear of the car, it sits a little high. Can the car be lowered down slightly on its rear dampers with any problem. I know the rear end is adjustable on its dampers, but by lowering it would it upset the geomtry of the car. Is this a big job. Please help.
