Actually I hear that Enzo grave comment quite often and it always bothers me: If you look at the history of the brand, especially in the early years, Enzo himself was the biggest cannibal when it came to his own cars. He just assembled, disassembled cars as he needed them. There were what today would be collector's items in Modena's backyard, cut open cars, frames etc. Also if you look at all the prototypes and one-offs Pininfarina made you have to admit, that the sacred collection is not that sacred. I think Enzo would actually find the cars below rather interesting. Maybe I'm biased, coming from Europe and having been 'exposed' to the works of Koenig from an early age. But I always loved the creative approaches he took to Maranello's cars; making them hotter looking and way faster (ever seen his F40 'replica' based on a TR?). Back in the 80ties, when the TR was hot a friend of mine bought one, but before he ever drove it, he took it right to a German shop where they cut it open and made it into a convertible. He did that without even flinching. That also opened my mind to these alterations; so I think this black 348 is just awesome. My $ 0.02 |

The 348 is a beautiful car just the way it is. Enzo would turn in his grave if he heard this conversation! |

IMHO, when the 348's first came out, I didn't like its styling due to its copy of the TR sides and elimination of the rear round lights... but time healed that and now I appreciate them for not being the typical F. I don't think Ferrari has plans to make any more cheesegraters in the near future. Cheesegrater sizes: small - Mondial medium - 348 large - TR anyone has this collection? |

Martin, Would you put the 355 grill and lights on 348 ? I think its looks OK, but then again why mess around with the styling of the beautiful 348. I thought maybe the 355 challenge grill would look good. Do you think its expensive to do ? |

I don't know. The red Spider look okay with the aftermarket wheels, the other one is out of line if you ask me. I saw that one a few weeks back and it is overpriced and ugly IMHO.
