Kevin, that is a great thing to do. Most people will never have a chance to see an F50 in person let alone drive in one. Using your car for good things is great. We had these discussions before. I believe that Ferraris should be shown and whenever you are asked for a ride of somebody wants to take a picture give them the opportunity to sit in the car. The smiles are incredible pay back! |

I can't believe what people are willing to pay for a darn RIDE!!! Perhaps it's the Krispy Kreme donughts that are cloudig peoples mentality. This blows me away.

this year, i did the 10k childrens hospital deal here for sovren which was pretty nice and fun. but my favorite charity is actually the pacific science center. Originally, i did look at havign the proceeds go to one of the ebay charity's but i couldnt figure out how to do it since the 'auction for america' stuff is gone. so currently, i didn't state anywhere that it was going to charity. but it is getting to such absurd levels that i might just hand it over to the pac sci center anyway if anyone really pays this supposed thousands. that's pretty crazy. i will be doing another one of these for the issaquah school district sometime next year, although i dont know if it is going on ebay. like i said, this is getting a bit out of control i think. i highly doubt anyone is going to pay out at the current levels this has gone up to. but it is pretty amazing to think about. |

In Montreal every year the club gets together with the sick kids hospital. They give rides to the kids at the F1 circuit. Corporations sponsor each car and it is a great idea for raising money. I wish we did this in Toronto. |

Kevin, awesome idea! Quick question though, (I might have missed it), but what charity are you donating the proceeds to? |

Kevin: Very interesting idea. I see the auction is up to over 5 grand. I'm curious to see if you collect for your charity. I'm also interested because I am the producer of the Ferrari French Quarter Concorso (see louisiana cite or genral site for info). Every year I hire a formula one driver to take my VIPs for rides in Ferrari Challenge cars around a road course. If this idea works I'd like to know and use it as a Charity benefit at my next event. Cool thing to do in my opinion. I wish you were in Florida. Maybe I will get one and do something similiar. That would be cool to have a ferrari and have it paid for by taking a guy on ride once a month. Hmmmm |

Again, I would rather be more conservative in the ad than might be reflected in reality. Besides, the guy who wants to do 150mph while it's rainign on some glassy-surface road here isnt the guy who i want to attract for this auction. In other words, I'm a big believer in unpromising and overdelivering. But man, I am sure getting some funny emails now! As for the time at KKD, sure i will let y'all know. we should make it a nice ferrari-caravan. |

When the auction is finished, maybe you could let it slip here what time you might be at Krispy Kreme...I'm sure a few of us could use some donuts that morning. |

" Traffic laws will be adhered to." Hmmmmm I wonder if this is true? Not that I think laws should be broke but if I am dropping what to me is a good chunk of change for a ride I had better see what the car can do. |

no, i am not getting rid of it. there are two reasons - most important is that i have a busy december (holiday, family, vacation etc.) and that i don't want to have it go on and on and on for a long time.

Hey Kevin, Why the November cut off date? You aren't getting rid of the F50, are you? ~C |

They do rides in all kinds of cars for charity in England. I've thought it would be a great idea over here, not for everone obviously. -Ben |

Would never bid a penny on this! Just go to a big Ferrari track meeting and ask any of the F50 guys politely to take them with them for a lap. Mostly they will do if they are not total jerks and you promise them a beer afterwards. Did that myself and got a ride in a F50 and a 360 challenge car for two laps in Spa! I wasnt allowed to drive the car but I didnt need to pay one cent. Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller |

Look at this post. Someone is auctioning a RIDE, not the car, a RIDE in a F-50. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1872227372 |
