Hello all. Bob D just pointed me in this direction. I registered yesterday for FChat and I just bought my 1st Ferrari...a 1986 328 GTS, Red/Tan, Serial # 62375, from E. Hanover/Florham Park, NJ.

So far I have received some great info! Thanks everyone

Dave, I didn't realize US GTB production was that low.... that means we have 5% of whatever remains here on FC. Not bad!

Rob,
I have been researching GTB's in the US for some years and estimate there are about 125-150 GTB's in the US compared to an estimate of 1800 or so GTS's. Worldwide production was 1344 GTB's and 6068 GTS's. Total 7412. There were also 308 GTB turbos and 828 GTS turbos (Italian market). Grand total 8548.
Too small a sample on colors to draw conclusions. In my experience, yellow is very rare on QV's 328's and Mondials. Rarer still are Prugna and green.
By the way, my car 79392 and I are located in Colorado.

Here's a summary from the "328 ONLY" thread which has been running for more than a week now. Some interesting stuff here! I've also listed all the cars below by VIN, year, model, color, etc.

First of all, here are some stats:

- By Year: 5 - 86's, 3 - 87's, 8 - 88's, 6 - 89's
- By Color: 15 Red (68%), 3 White (14%), 1 each black, yellow, blue & silver
- By Model: 16 GTS's, 6 GTB's
- Oldest Car (earliest VIN): Craig Dewey's '86 VIN 59897
- Newest Car (latest VIN): Aaron Mark's '89 VIN 82247

A couple of interesting notes:

- Notice Peter Soderlund's '88 GTB (79043) has a later VIN than my '89 GTS (78987). Since Peter is from Sweeden, this could be due to a different registration system? Or possibly Ferrari held a "block" of VINs for GTB cars vs. GTS cars? For the record, the build date on my '89 is October '88.

- Anybody surprised there aren't more black 328's?

- A lot of GTB's... 27%!

- Only 68% Red... I thought it would be closer to 80%! :-)
