I know this car... One of it's owners did the cam belts himself and was a little off. I don't remember if it had any valve damage, But it did run like dogshit. I wouldn't touch it with a 20 foot pole. |

If you don't fix them yourself, they are going to be expensive to maintain. If you can fix them, cost is not bad. Had I not taken my 328 to a professional mechanic for its first service, the car would not be expensive to maintain. But I was a little intimidated at first. It's like any mechanical thing. Take your time, use your head. If you have trouble, walk away and come back later. And with the chat rooms chock full of helpful, knowledgeable, and experienced people, you can fix about anything on a car if you have the time and desire.

Due to new job, traveling, moving, exploring, and having fun, have not been on much lately. Sorry I missed previous thread - will try to quickly find it. Sometimes vehicles can deteriote (sp) quickly if just sitting. Have been talking Ferraris to several people at work. One came into my office a little bit ago and asked if I wanted to go in halfs - only about $7,500 each. He said it might be a good way to learn, have fun, and maybe a good investment. Seller just called. Co-worker is now on his way to Philly - will call him on cell. Probably will pass, but will talk it over with co-worker. Thanks for comments. |

"probably just a parts car after sitting 3 years." Surely you have got to be joking. "Hey look, there's a house that hasn't been lived in for several years. Better bulldoze it to the ground because we could use the lumber". Do you guys throw out a TV set just because you haven't watched it in a few months? Jezzzzz. |

More than fully priced at $15K IMO -- probably just a parts car after sitting 3 years. |

If anybody is on line, what do you think of this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1872123829 Someone just came into my office and wanted to know if we should bid on this together. It seems like a crap shoot to me - no mention of service or records. Also why was it stored 3 years ago? Problems or just not being used? Cannot reach seller. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave |
