Greg,
Yes. I bought it from http://www.superlifts.com/
and you can buy a jack bridge which will allow you to raise your car off the lift. A picture of it can be found in the brochure...I didn't see it on the website.

Todd,
Great looking garage. I'm slowly reworking mine, but it's a month to month project. Does your lift give you the option of raising the car from the lift so you can remove the wheels?

Todd,

It looks great! I'm doing a current remodel too. I haven't bought a lift yet but sure would like to... my ceiling is only 9.5 feet though.
Here's a photo of what I'm working with....

Todd, That is a Ferrari owners dream come true. What a beautiful place to work on your Ferrari. Now all you need is a Butler to hand you the wrenches.

Cousin Brucey, where you been dog? Any chance of hooking up this weekend?

Bob, you either love or hate em right? Someday I want to do a package weekend and see the Cowboys play on their home field...and of course tailgate...but I'll wait till they are playing above the level of a mediocre high school team in the NFL.

Matt, I find it easier to back the car on the lift...just open your door a crack as you back up and watch your tire hit the ramp...you can't miss.

Brett, Sounds good...we'll have to set something up.

VS, I am going to do some detailing underneath this winter as well...where's a pic of the 328?...you have to put one in your profile.

Hey there Martin, My ceiling is 118 inches from the floor, minus 11.5 inches for the center ceiling beam (of which runs from my side to my wife's side of the garage)...it's pretty tight if I leave the top on the 328...that's OK because this way I can only buy a car with no top or convertible in the future :-)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I had the center pole padded with carpet...just in case!

Thanks guys

I live in northern Bergen County, I've hooked up with (not like that) a couple of guys from here, but I've had my car all apart in this modification thing for the last year and haven't really done anything Fcar. When I get it together in a couple months it should be fun to get back into it. I'm thinking we're gonna have to try to get some sort of organized meeting going on, not official, but routine. Cool bunch of guys.

Todd - garage looks great. Love the lift. I've got a buddy with the same lift - and this winter both our 328s will spend some time on it so we can clean up the undersides. Next project will have to be the other bay :-)

Man that's an awesome idea. I'd be so nervous backing my car in and raising it though. You did a great job though.:-)

Good one Rob...never thought of the mating concept till now. Yes, I am a Cowboy fan...it started when Staubach joined the team...I did book reports on him when I was a kid...what a gentleman,(the guy would hide all his trophies in the closet, etc.)

I have so many hats that I just decided to hang the ones I don't wear instead of throwing them out...I guess maybe I have issues collecting hats.

The workbench is 2.5 feet from the lift so I have plenty of room to open all the cabinets.

Eli, thanks for hooking me up with Motormat.

Bret, Where do you live in NJ? I am surprised we haven't hooked up at some of the local events.

Thanks guys.

I won't be back on-line until the end of the day.

Cheers,

TTG

What will the offspring look like? I guess the best hope would be a Mondial, but I'm thinking ugly any way you go. I love Ferrari and I like BMW, I have both, but I can't imagine them hooking up.

That's great! Very well organized for the space you're working with.

That's not a Cowboys pennant is it? Aughhh. The Texans are the new America's team.

It looks super, I like the picture were the 328 stands above the bimmer :-)

Just a simple question, maybe not the smartest one but I was wondering, isn't it hard to get the tools or so out of the cabinets by the lift ?
It seems to me that you would bump into the lift when you open the cabinet doors and try to reach for something, since it looks like there's not much space between the lift and the cabinets.
Or is it just an optical illusion ?

Never the less, I wish I had an garage like this, with the cars offcourse ;)

Well, I think my garage is finally completed...for now. Nothing too crazy in comparison to some of the "shrines" I've seen here on FChat...but I'm very happy with it. Basically I had the garage door track extended on my side, new insulated doors, new door motor opener on my side, the car lift, flourescent lighting, the finished painted work bench/storage cabinets and lastly the flooring...words of wisdom...if considering the flooring, put the flooring down 1st!...then the lift... Ugh!
