And this car was photographed in Florida i think .
the first one looks like a replica but a nice one ..what about the second one ? is that the same car for sale at Exotic car World ? Once again thanks ! |

James and Wayne , thanks a lot for the information ! Its just a pleasure to learn about those cars ! It appears so that the 3rd P4 is either missing or still owned by Mr Medlin..but who wouldnt use/show a 330 P4 ?? If What Bryan said is correct then i have no respect for this man ! Locking ferraris for years , depriving the world from such beauties is almost a crime ! Again thank you very much , and Wayne sorry if i took you away from your work |

Wayne - you mention Walt Medlin as one of the owners of the P4s. I did a quick search on 'Medlin' and it doesn't look like he has ever been discussed here. That is a wierd story - in short (and I've heard various stories from different sources) he has a treasure trove of vintage Ferraris, road and race, stashed in 'U store it' bins scattered throughout Florida. Every now and then he'll open up a bin and sell a few of them - Mike Sheehan was allowed in one of them last year and took amazing pictures of dust-covered Ferraris like a Lusso, a 206, a couple of 330 GTCs. I think the Lusso and maybe the 206 were for sale - some of the pics were posted on Tom Yang's site. The door slams shut, the padlock goes back on, and it might be a few more years before Medlin lets another one see the light of day. If anyone else has heard of a Medlin tale, I'm all ears. |

Wayne, One interesting recent change. Ferrari seems to be allowing Piper to race 0900 in the historic challenge. Also please be assured I by no means believe the mystery of 0846 has been solved only that it wasn't burned into oblivion at LeMans, a car "330 Ferrari P4 0846" was imported into Swisserland on a Carnet in the seventies,(after it was suposedly destroyed by Ferrari) and I don't believe the P5 is built on 0846's chassis.(What do you think of that after looking at the photo's of the P5 chassis?) What ever my car may turn out to be it is still way cool; NON? (I posted a pic of my chaissis in "QUIZ" Best |

It's a little tricky. The factory converted P3 0846 into a P4 and that was the car that won Daytona. The converion included a slightly wider rear track. A Ferrari 5 speed (instead of a ZF 5 speed) and an engine with Lucas mechaincal fuel injection instead of webbers. The factory then built 3 P4's. One is now owned by Mr. Stroll and remains very original. The one owned by Mr Bardinon was turned by the Factory into a 350 CanAm and back into a P4 by Mr Bardinon. The third one so far as I know was converted into a CanAm car by the factory and remains so today. 0900 was made by David Piper from the remains he bought from Enzo Ferrari and a new chassis. 0900 is not a number that was used by Ferrari. A 412P is what upgraded P3's customer cars were called. Mr Stroll also owns P3 0850 the yellow car pictured in the "older" thread. |

I know this doesn't answer your question, but there's a beautiful yellow 330 P3 owned by P. Paul Pappalardo that is featured in the video "Victory by Design." Wow that car sounds awesome. |
