About the Ferrari Owners Club of Florida. This club was just recently formed by David Bobe, who was the president of the Ferrari Club of America - Florida. That club is way to stiff. I want to have fun on meetings not stand around stiffs and be snobbed at. The new club is fun. Lots of cool people. We had the first meet at Craig Zinn from the Zinn Autogroup. He has a "Playroom" at his Lexus dealership. Boy, that is some playroom. He has over 40 collector cars. Cool guy totally into cars. Lots of fun. Anyway, if you guys want some more info on the club e-mail David at: [email protected] or the website is: http://www.focfloridaregion.com |

William; Coral Gables is more South than North. The UM is west and South, west of the Airport. If you go from the BEach towards the UM in the morning you will not have much traffic. Everybody is living west. Figures, you move to Miami to live in the Everglades, because you get a newer house out there....I will never figure that out. There is people living so far west that they are already in East Naples ... Coral Gables does not have a Beach. They are inland. The furthest you can go there is Coconut Grove. That is also a hip place. I am sure we can find you a nice place. If I can recommend, stay on the Beach! Best increase in value, there is only one Beach! Sam; I tend to disagree with that Bisacayne sceene. It could very well happen but if it does not you are sitting on a dead horse. Prices have overinflated there already. You can still but some decent priced condos there but commercial is way of. I am too conservative for that. The new performing arts center will be build there and that should bring new life, that is also what they said when the arena was build and nothing happened. The area is surrounded by shitty buildings and neighborhoods. You have liberty city close by, Overtown right next to it. This is where u have major crime and all the drug problems. As I said stay on the Beach! Best future. |

Martin, Some thoughts RE: I think the biscayne blvd area is very hot and up/coming probably good value still -esp with a budding club/arts scene near the new stadum. what will happen to that mall that is now empty? Also there is a new building going up just at teh sobe side of the causeway on the bay side nearwhere they rent those exotic cars accross from the Coast gaurd station..will that be a nice bldg...seems to me like ez in/out - minimal traffic and you are onthe highway but still in sobe.... FERRARI; I am putting together a NYC ferrari drivers club and it would be great to make an affiliation with your fla club for us snowbirds |

As I understand there will be 2 more Ferraristi in Florida soon....Welcome! Sam if you are concerned about crime the Biscayne Blvd area is maybe not the right thing.. Too many hobos still. Will be nice in a few years, maybe but now...? 80th and Collins is Surfside. This is where I live. A great area. What makes this town stand out is the building and zoning codes. There are no variances allowed and therefore there is no overpopulation like in Aventura and Sunny Isles. Two of the worst cities in So FLA. North Beach (60 - 75 and Collins) will become an interesting site soon. I predict there will be some development in this region. There are no buildings yet, except one that was completed 2 years ago by Allan Waserstein. 75 and Ocean. I can see some new ones coming in a few years. Surfside will have a new building coming.- The developers are going through planning at the moment. I will actually talk to them tonight at the Council Meeting. My neighbor is selling his house and he wants to move into a condo. Sam we need to hook up if you are here in the winter. There are some nice events. Italiafest by the president of the Lambo club is a great event with track in Moroso and concourse in Delray. Also there is the newly created Ferrari Owners Club Florida Chapter. Great people. Will have some great events also Moroso and others. There is the first events in Gainsville on the Gainsville track in August. There will be a Sebring event and Moroso. Would be great to have you guys down here |

William, I am may be right behind you, I have had with NYC and love the lifestyle and women of S.Be. the car culture and boating (another passion) is better down there, also it is only a few hours flight from NYC and is an ez gateway to s. america. I think the portofino is generally overpirced and the beach itself, cramped, crime is an concern and generally gay. My buddy keeps saying that boca is the place to be but I am looking at the two buildings near the Marriot biscayne bay (actually the building is the doubletree hotel off biscayne blvd. there is contantly a hot party bldg and the judging from what I saw at the pool. Heaven has got to be worse -- I am not involved in RE or an agent... I'd welcome Martin's advice. I also have a great ferrari mechanic and great guy in the lauderdale area (another hot spot) where I keep my ferrari in winter and use it on weekends down there. The great news is S FLA is Ferrari country! and there is a reat track in Palm beach gardens MOROSO to really open 'er up and also great drives to the keys and nice high speed limit on the turnpike to daytona...let's compare notes...p.s. I can also help you get through law school with minimal work! |

Brickell is the business atmosphere. I own some offices in that neighborhood. Not bad to live but you are mor eor less confide to your building. Portofino is the largest building in South Beach at the tip of SoBe. There are some new buildings planned down there but I have not seen cranes yet. I was once visiting the middle unit on the 36th floor. It is a two story unit with 5000sqft. Nice apartment. Way over price if you ask me ($2.2 Mio.) I prefer my own house and a garage. A 3+ Garage and at least 1 bedroom and one bath is fine with me. Talking about priorities! It comes down to what scope you want to get into this here. Brickell and Portofino are priced at somewhere $500K and up for good units. Rodeo Drive? I don't know. That sounds more a sales gimmick to me. You have been there and have seen the various stores that are on collins. I can not see in the near future any major change to the environment south of 5th street. There will be some new buildings but that is about it. If they continue building these high rise monsters there will be no environment for any Rodeo Drive left. That is my opinion. You will have concrete canyon, just like Brickell. Give me some price idea you want to spend in. You can also e-mail me direct or call me at: 305-867-7676. |

Martin, I was looking at the Portofino bldg by Joes Crab shack at the far southern tip of South Beach, heard they were making a Rodeo Dr type area down there but cus of the recesion Ive been waiting for the prices to soften a little. Any word, Whats the diff between the people who live on Brickel & the people who live in or around the Portofino ? Thanks, William |

Great place to be. I live 15min from SoBe and 20 from Brickell but on the Beach. There are no 10 car garage homes here... House or Condo? I can also get you a good leather conditioning for your Ferrari seats. You will need this with the latin girls. They drip in these cars. We call that leakage! If you are serious about this let me know some more and mybe I can help you. I am in Real Estate and can give you lots of points. Again, no 10 car garage. Tried that myself. Thinking of building myself. |
