I agree with B Phillips and would add "The Man and the Machine" for early history and some wonderful early photos. Also, the Lehbrink/Schegelmilch book has wonderful photography (the text is cryptic) of many great cars, and is relatively cheap. Some of the collected reviews in R&T (the trade paperback collective works) are pretty amusing when you look at the then contemporary perspective on these cars. There are also a couple of booklets on the early spyders, and berlinettas that have been republished a few years ago that make for interesting reading. |

Try Antoine Prunet's "Ferrari - The Road Cars", Dean Batchelor's "Ferrari Buyer's Guide" (I think there are three editions now), or Keith Bluemel's "Front Engine V-12 Ferraris - 1965-1973" Richard Merritt's book on the earliest Ferraris - 1947 through ?. It is available from VelocePress. There are other Ferrari survey books out there books out there, but I think these are the best/most accurate. |

Can anyone recommend a good book about the older (pre-'75 or so) Ferraris? There seems to be a ton of variations on the 250-theme, and I would like to learn about all of the various vintage Ferrari production cars. Brian |
