JRV,

What stories have you heard about these brokers? Why should one be so concerned. Just curious since I do not know.

Regards.

I actually encountered this guy driving his Black 360 Modena around the southwest freeway in Houston on my trips there. I had my SLR with me so I took pics of his black 360 while driving and it was very nice. He had plates that read "CAWC 2" (look at his e-mail address)

I must say he didn't even budge when I came beside him in my red Mini! (Yes, I drove my Mini all the way down from Vancouver to Houston in July) Must've been because he was talking on his cell phone at the time!

A word of advice about 'used car brokers' in Houston...WATCH FREAKIN OUT !!!!

At least 4 of them have been in prison within the last 5-10 years and are back on the streets and up to the same tricks. If you think you can get screwed in NY, you ain't seen nothin like these boys.

Provide a name...

one of the cars has paper plates and the other texas tags. has anybody run the tags to see if he is the registered owner. it may not correspond with the story he tells. i am here in houston but don't know anything about this guy, but that isn't saying much.

It seems he also has a 360 for sale, from your encounter it seems kinda shady.

i assume you mean this one in houston?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1872818301

that car has been repeatedly listed now four or more times. i have in fact attempted to converse with the seller, to no avail. he refuses to provide detailed responses to questions via email and insists on a phone call - but i was not able to reach him via phone the couple of times i tried.

if you run a carfax on it, you'll see some weird emissions test records from May of this year. it PASSED on the 8th; and then FAILED on the 9th, 10th, 14th, and 15th; and then PASSED on the 17th. weird. maybe it is or was modded up the wahoo?

the emails and vmails all route from some woman with a different name than the guy selling. he also didn't have a clue what a GTO shelf was.

when i urged him to answer via email 'cuz the last thing i needed was MORE phone tag in my life he responded "I have 0 typing experience and it would take me hours to respond to your questions.". these were questiosn like: how many owners; any bodywork; any accidents; amenable to a PPI; etc. in theory, those shouldn't require a response of the magnitude of the modern american novel.

here's his historicals. either this guy just isn't too bright, or he's doing something uncool.

Anybody know why this car isn't moving at this price? It seems very cheap. 5298 miles. Is it the market or the car?
