Enzo's true love was Piero's mom, I think Dino's mom was crazy most of her life.

It must be great to be Ferraris illegitimate (and only surviving) son.

Peter is correct regarding the ownership of the various departments under FIAT SpA. However, 10% of Ferrari is still owned by Piero Ferrari while the rest is under the FIAT group.

Wow, that classy that Sangho is on this site and we were talking about him. This site is going global or something. Pretty soon we could take over the world (remember when we wanted to take over a country, well now it's the world).

There are a couple Maserati 3200s at FNA headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, like ten minutes away so I go over there sometimes. They are pretty cool looking, especially the back end, they're kind of a futuristic Ferrari.

I think that FIAT S.P.A owns Ferrari (except X% of the racing department) and FIAT Auto.

Ferrari owns Maserati.
FIAT Auto owns FIAT, Lancia and Alfa Romeo.

GM has Y% of FIAT Auto shares but nothing of FIAT S.P.A (Ferrari/Maserati).

Mr. Pininfarina is a member of the Ferrari board.

Maserati (Ferrari) will probably race the Maserati 3200 (or later 4000) in the FIA GT series. Ferrari will only race i F1, i.e. no factory 360 in the GT series.

Im not 100% sure but thats my guess...

Peter, that's correct : maserati is entirely owned by ferrari. But ferrari is (almost) entirely owned by fiat (so I believe it's not a real mistake to say fiat owns both maserati and ferrari). I believe pininfarina co. (the designer) has also some stock in ferrari.
To the owner : yes great car!

The 3200gt will be priced between 80 - 100k in the US. They should be here in the US by late fall or early 2002.

Probably I forgot 2 interesting things :
1) maserati 3200gt has same price as porsche carrera in Europe. It has 3217cc (3.2l), 370hp and is available with 6speed manual or 4automatic.
2) Marketing strategy concerning sportscars of fiat group (owner of both maserati and ferrari). To be more profitable fiat will produce more sportscars in the future and fiat will look for additional market share at the lower priced sportscars (just like porsche did with the boxster). Fortunately for us, ferrari freaks, fiat will produce 4000 ferrari maximum a year (just like recent years). The lower end of the sportcar market will be filled by maserati has decided the fiat directors. So fiat will not (Never say never although that decision seems pretty decisive) produce a cheaper ferrari to compete with porsche, instead fiat will make maseratis to compete with porsches. I believe that is great : ferrari will stay exclusive, second hand ferraris will retain their higher values (I believe the biggest competitor for a five years old porsche carrera is a brandnew boxster and this will affect the second-hand value of the carrera. Any opinions?

It's a maserati 3200GT sold in europe already for 2 years.
Since maserati is bought by the fiat group in mid nineties, you could say that maserati is a ferrari. Fiat group is also owner of fiat (of course) alfa romeo, lancia, ferrari and... maserati (since mid nineties). You could say the 3200 GT is a ferrari because it's the first totally new maserati since fiat group bought maserati AND because ferrari engineers helped maserati to build a more reliable car (believe it or not but 10 years ago ferraris were 'extremely reliable' compared to maserati). In 1995 ferrari engineers discovered more than 400 black points on the maserati quattroporte. Ferrari forced maserati to CEASE production until the number of black points was less than 200. After about 5 or 6 months maserati could start production...
The maserati 3200 gt is as said the first all new maserati since those times. I'm really surprised it is not known yet in the US?

Nice cars, that Maserati is made by Ferrari I believe, very similar and about the same cost as the 550.

They will be sold in Ferrari dealerships soon.
