The problem should be fixed now. I would like to thank everyone for the help, especially Becker Cuéllar and Web-Stat for working it out. The root cause problem was that Web-Stat's code had problems with my site using the IP# and not the domain name associated with that IP# in some of my HTML. The easiest fix was for me to change the HTML vs. them rewrite their code.

If it's still happening, please let me know.

Thanks,
Rob

I still haven't reproduced it, you may reset your shortcuts. Try just editing your current shortcut to http://server.ferrarichat.com/~ferrari/ferrarichat.com/discus

You guys need to use a superior browser... Netscape® Navigator 4.08. :)

I've never had this message.

Interesting! As of this morning, the error message is no longer displaying.

FWIW, I was and am:

- connect through a DSL service
- use IE 5.5 SP1
- click on the URL in my address window

Thanks much!

I can use both and have no problems.

-Internet Explorer 5

-I click in by the short cut in my address bar, but I can still access it with no problems from my bookmark as well.

The very first day though, when I did go back, it did not show current postings. Even emailed Magoo if it happened to him. Turns out I clicked on an old shortcut in the address bar. After that A-OK.

Rob, If I use http://209.196.179.161/discus/ I don't get the Error display. If I use WWW. Ferrari chat. com I get it every time. I have Windows 98 and use AOL.

Hmm, I haven't had this problem, but I would like to fix it ASAP. It may be related to the hit counter accessing the other site. Let me ask a few questions, usually finding a patern of cause is the best thing...

For everyone having this problem?

1) What type (Netscape or Internet Explorer) browser are you using?

2) What version (you can get this from menu option Help - About)?

3) How do you access this site? Do you type FerrariChat.com every time or do you have a shortcut? If you have a shortcut, what is the address of that shortcut?

I'll figure it out eventually, at least you can get in after saying no, I hope it's not the hit counter, because it's cool to see the Sultan of Brunei is logging in.

Rob, as soon as "yes "is clicked on the error display it takes you on into Ferrari chat.com.

That's true Rob, the error display does flip up each time you pull up the chat line. Just an observation.

Yeah Rob, I get a message that says an error has occurred running the script of this page whenever I first go to FerrariChat. It says on Line 7, Character 4. It goes away when I click that I would like to continue running the script. I know a little about code, but not really this internet stuff as much. It's no big deal, I just figured I would tell you. Mine too started after the switch.

Guys,

Thanks for your responses.

This error message started showing-up right after Rob moved to another server or whatever change he recently made. It comes-up each time I access http://www.ferrari.com/discus and goes away when I hit "NO." Clicking on "YES" opens-up some sort of debugging software that messes-up my screen. Also, I see that the counter is showing at this time and I am not sure if that has something to do with this.

BTW, rebooting the system and coming back straight to this site does not get rid of the error message either.

Oh, well!

Viken

I looked at the shot u took of the screen and as u can see the counter is not displaying, I quickly looked at the source code of the pages behind this board and I see it calls another site to run a js file, probably when you ran it that site was unavailable from your end.

Cheers

I haven't seen that one before, did it go away after trying again?

What did it do when you hit either the yes or no button?

Most of the time this would be a fluke on the network and usually doesn't happen again. If you can recreate the error, please document the previous steps and send to me.

Thanks,
Rob
