Joe: Arlie works in lovely Arkansaw at the tv station where he gets his email. He isn't hiding his address, or if he is, he isn't doing it very well. Donna: I don't know if you're an enthusiast or you just ended up with the flag. It's beautiful and if you do have to sell it, I hope you get what its worth. Art Art |

Hey Ed, those RF lines look pretty whimpy compared to ours down here. We use 6 inch diameter copper tubing to feed our 2000 foot tower and antenna. More horsepower please! |

Hey, Arlie,,,,,,I grew up in Santa Maria, a rodeo town in California. Where the Smith & Wessons, Colts & Winchesters have never been put down. (No crack problem there.) I'm now working in philly, it stinks! No, I mean really stinks. Industry has paid off the politicians and they are free to polute. The people are all slaves,,,,, still slaves or gonna be slaves. White, Black and everybody else. The Poverty & Crack is everywhere. "The city of brotherly love?" Yah, right. Momma told me it's OK to be poor, but it's not ok to be dirty. (God Bless New Jersey & Atlantic City.,... clean and a breath of freash air.) And, Joe ,,, I'll be back to Chicagoland in the spring. I take a run over to you in the F-Car. Well enjoy a glass of dego-red and talk about engines and engineering. ha ha |

OK, ,, ok ,, Joe. I don't see any problem with Iraq or Bagdad. They are just looking to be Martered because they are hate'in life. Tooooo bad. See we have all the trees, and so do the Canook's. Thus, they are not jelouse of us. (And that's why we get along so well with our Northern neighbors.) Now, Iraq might have chemical weapons, but they don't know how to use them. Remember in the Gulf War, They lit off one of their stink bombs, the wind shifted, and they gassed themself's! ha ha And, now that we have subcentimeter orbital survalence capabilities, they can't hide much. So, We won't have to run to the hills at all. And we will always have plenty of methanol to run our ferrari's and your blown Harley off of. (But I prefer to run an Indian.) We are allready running 10%, and we are driving hugh gas guzzleing SUV's to freakin Disneyland every weekend. Just look at the Indy cars. They run 100% methanol and are fast as hell. So, to streatch to 100% Methanol, we just all need to run our motorscooters, take the bus and telecommute. Engineering echonomics will prevail. God Bless the USA. Happy (day after) Thanksgiving! |

After the great calamity, might I suggest that everybody point their Ferraris for the Ozark Mountains here in Arkansas. Plenty of large mountains to deflect windborn radioactivity, biological hazards, etc. Lots of fresh water, fish and game, plenty of room to build a fire, camp out, and reflect in general on the way civilization WAS! A good time will be had by all until the gasoline for the generators runs out, then we'll have to siphon the Ferrari tanks to last a little while longer. After that, it's candles and beef jerky. Then Ferraris will no longer be king, it will be Smith & Wesson, Winchester, Colt, and a few others that rule the countryside! |

Arlie There are more T70's than original cars as many were built later from spares. I agree that it is one of the most beautiful race cars of all time and so did Ferrari. If you look at pics of my P4 and compare it with pics of a Lola T70 MK-I (mine is a IIB, Pics on off topic MK-IV) which came first , you can see where my P4 got her curves. My particular car was a Pensky/Donohue T70 which Donohue drove to several CanAm victories. It was then raced by John Meyer and was SCAA A sports racing Champ for 67,68,and 69. He also won the MT.Equinox Hill climb setting a record that has never been broken. I bought it in the 70ies, put on a coupe body and drive it on the road. It's a great road car. The motor was originally built by Traco who also built the motor in the Donohue 512M Ferrari. The Traco Ferrari engine made 50 more HP than the factory 512's. As Donohue said "Not bad for a small block Chevy builder from the USA." |

I always thought the T-70 was one of the best looking race cars ever. I have the Road&Track magazine from a few years back that covered the reproduction that somebody was building a few of. If I remember correctly, the car was yellow on the cover. How many T-70s are still out there? Are there any unrestored hulks waiting to be found? |

My ex Donohue Chevy Powered Lola T-70 may be a taxi but it was and still is a fast taxi. It blew EVERY Ferrari it ever raced against into the weeds. Thirty five years later, with a coupe body, and street legal it would pass an Enzo on the Mulsanne. |

I don't doubt that Ferraris descend from their race car heritage. Maybe that's why so many Walter Mitty Ferrari owners end up wrapping their cars around trees. They have enough cash to buy the car but that still doesn't give them the race car driver talent. Of course, the same could be said for any sports car. But it's a greater shame with Ferraris. They are rarer and more expensive so the loss of each one is a greater percentage of the total made. But then that just drives up the market price, right? |

The chevy pump will ,,, ,, based upon the HP output. remember the 3.0 liter is turning 0.333 times, work. (Remembert that it is times and again, as fast ,, ,,, soooo the ratio of MAX rpm ,,, times 1.3333 * RPM) What is the CFM fuel, for the Chevrolet fuel pumps, listed? Ladies? Iron joe, warm up the TIG. Well a very respectful reply back to you Martin. By your logic, a person should try LSD, crack cocaine, or heroin before they knock it, correct? I mean, how can you put it down if you haven't tried it? That's your line of logic. I've never jumped off a 100 foot high cliff, but I know that I would'nt like it. I've never paid for a 30K mile Ferrari service, but I would rather not do so. And where did you get the idea that I don't want to be a Ferrari owner? I never said so. As a matter of fact, I purchased the Ferrari buyers guide about 10 years ago and did quite a bit of reading and research at that time. The 308 timing belt problems were a turn off to me, as it was to another local who owned several. But since coming onto this board, I have discovered that the timing belt problem is not THAT insurmountable, it's just something that has to be maintained. As for not being a Ferrari owner, EVERYBODY was a NON-owner until they bought their first Ferrari; we see that on this board everyday. When, and if, I run across the right car, I may jump into the water. Just because someone at one time owned a late model Corvette from the 70s, that doesn't mean they have any knowledge of the earlier cars. If I own and drive a 1984 V8 308GTS, does that mean I have the knowledge to trash a 1967 V12 330? Hardly. As for why I don't go over to one of the Corvette sites, well it's because of the obvious. I DO enjoy the study of Ferraris, and I WOULD INDEED like to own one someday. What geniune car buff in his right mind wouldn't? Another reason I like this board is the fact that topics can swerve back and forth and nobody gets too bent out of shape if a thread goes off topic.

Yarn Arlie, this is getting old now. If someone (me) trashes Corvettes because he(I) owned two in 1990 and 1991 then at least he (I) have oned one/two before he (I)trash other peoples cars on presumtions. Since you jab about the expensive Ferrari maintenance maybe it is time to step up and actually buy one to find out what it really is. You would be surprised! You are free to express yourself. Just wanted to make the point where you are vs those that had Corvettes and trash those. Why would you even want to own a Ferrari? and if you don't then why hang around here? You obviously have great knowledge in Corvettes. Shouldn't you be helping fellow Corvette owners out at CorvetteChat.com? I mean it all goes to waste here. I mean this very respectfull! |

Donna, you've got to realize that some of the posters here are total knee-jerk reactionaries. If you dare to speak the truth about anything, especially anything that counters the worship of Ferraris or dares to mention any other automobile, they start their jabbing. They tend to have automotive tunnel vision and can't see anything except Ferrari red. Because somebody once owned a Corvette back in 1982, they feel qualified to trash all Corvettes back to 1953. Funny how the board has hundreds of posts concerning valuable topics like license plate frames and car waxes, but they get all defensive when you dare to defend yourself against a cheap humerous jab. Joe really got his dander up when he jabs me about early Corvettte fuel injection units and I quickly showed him that I actually knew alot about the subject. Hey Joe, if nobody wanted to hear about the subject, why did you bring it up??? Quite ironic that of all the postings that I have read on Ferrarichat, I actually printed out one by Iron Joe concerning alternate parts sources for 308s. He seems to know his 308 parts but I guess he is extremely sensitive when somebody counters his jabbing with intelligent facts. Perhaps we should open up a new thread concerning timing belt replacement for the 287th time. That would probably be much more interesting to them than swapping humerous jabs. |

At the risk of further aggravating Arlie - Yes, I do have a number of other items. (I promise I did not come here with the intent of peddling my wares Arlie - it just happened!) If you go to ebay and click on 'search', it will allow you the option to search by seller name - mine is stephnatori. A couple of items are about to drop off in the next few minutes, but I have more of them so I'll be relisting later. Also I have some 'dealer only' posters that I'll be listing later today. I have no problem selling them here too, ebay just makes the logistics a little easier. The fees all come out of the sellers pocket anyway, not yours. Let me know if you have any questions on any of it. |

Thanks for the flag info. No, I don't own an f-car - my husband just dreams a lot! About 7 years ago he tried to start a business selling exotic car-related items(hats, posters, tshirts), but never had the time to get it off the ground. We have had all the stuff in the attic ever since, so I decided to unload it on ebay (there's that nasty word again Arlie). He's really attached to the flag though and doesn't want to give it up! That's why I thought I would do some checking before I just threw it out there for sale. |

In the Ferrari Store at Maranello they sold similar flags in 2 sizes. I don't think they had the Italian Flag colours at the top though. The largest which I think is about the same size as yours was either 75 Pounds or 75 Euros. |

Good morning, Bruce is here, Arlie you better watch your ass, he knows what he's talking about. Anyway, FORMULA ONE in Montreal, CA. has two nice Ferrari flags in two sizes. Linda and I brought one home from our recent trip. It's great to hang it in the garage, Donna, you should keep the flag, do you own an f-car?? John |

Donna, I think I know that flag. t is not what I thought it was. Those dealer flags are slim, this one is more like a real flag. I will offer $ 50 for the flag and hang it in the warehouse. If you are interested send me an e-mail. Will be out of town as of tomorrow, so let me know today and I can send you a check.

Tom, I don't know where you're looking but I wish you would point me in that direction. I've been looking for a similar flag on ebay for weeks to get an idea of its worth and haven't found it. If it's there, it's not mine - trust me. I do have stuff on ebay under this same user name, but you won't find this flag. Kind of excited to hear that $1000 dollar figure though! |

And since Joe mentioned James Bond films, I will agree, Bond was a classy guy. That's why the first car that James Bond rode in during the very first film (Dr. No, 1962) was a classy ride indeed. An Aston Martin, MG, or Ferrari? Of course not. During the first 5 minutes of the first film, he gets driven away in REAL class, a black 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air convertible. |

Horsefly, Did you really pay six dollars for that flag, or are you just trying to bait us. I think it might have cost $3.00 and you are trying to jack us flag buyers around. Now I want a Freaking flag and I want one now. I'm going to look on E-Bay! |

Iron Joe, which fuel injection parts are you referring to? The earliest model number 7014360, 7014520, the 7014800 used more on the 57 Chevy passenger cars, or the later 7014960? If you really need them, I have about 2 of each one? Or maybe you need an NOS air meter for the earliest 7014360 model? I have one of those in the original orange Rochester products box with the original yellow inspection sticker still attached. Or maybe you need a complete smooth top unit for your 60 or 61 Vette. I have one of each. Injection nozzles? Which ones do you need, the long or short version? High pressure fuel pumps; I have a couple. Unless of course you have a 1963 unit which used the inferior wobble pump. I didn't know we were going to talk about early Corvette fuel injection or I would have come prepared. But don't get into the early Pontiac fuel injection units because their fuel meter used a pump mounted at right angles compared to the Corvette version. But I believe the high pressure pump is the same so don't pass one up if you see it. But I could go on if you want me to. Anybody have any extra axle link parts? |

What do you mean "we" are waiting for you to post a price. I think you mean you are. It is her item and she can sell it however she pleases and I sure she hopes for the best price she can get. She is just selling a flag man. No need to make a big deal out of it. If she put it on ebay and someone was willing to pay $150 for it how is that any skin off of your back? |

For what it's worth, a coworker of mine went to Italy this summer and bought a 3 by 5 foot Ferrari flag for me at the Leaning Tower of Pisa gift shop. It costs her a little over six dollars. By the way Donna, we're still waiting for you to post a price tag on your banner so that one of the members can buy it. Dare I play a card from the bottom of the deck and suggest Chris Sawyerr??? |

Well Bruce, perhaps my reaction is based on experience on numerous other electronic and automotive boards. People show up with tantalizing merchandise, dangle it in front of everybody like a carrot, then whisk it off to E-Bay to try and reap maximum profit by competing everybody against each other. It's kind of like a single guy knocking on some young lady's door with flowers and candy in hand and then asking directions to her best friend's house! Yes, it could be done but its very flakey. If you've got something to sell, put a price tag on it right here and somebody will buy it! |

Donna, you seem like a pretty good sport. You met Horsefly's sarcasm without shedding a tear! If you want some ebay advice, don't set a high starting price. People shy away from them, but will fight eachother tooth and nail for something that starts cheap, often to a ridiculous price. Good luck! |

Still trying to get a picture on. See Horsefly? I can't even upload a picture. You gotta cut me some slack just based on pure ignorance! The only reason I brought up ebay was because he expressed an interest in buying and I didn't know you could wheel & deal here. Actually it would save me fees to sell it here - I'm down with that! |

"I truly didn't know ferrarichat was a forum for buying & selling - I just needed to find someone with expertise to educate me." But of course you DID assume that Ferrarichat WAS a forum to direct potential buyers over to E-Bay and bid on your merchandise. Interesting. Hey, Martin offered to buy it. Shoot him a price and see if he goes for it. |

Horsefly is always jumping on somebody about something. I don't see the big deal at all. Maybe someone here will get it and be glad she mentioned it. As far as bidding the price up I guess when it comes down to it the banner is worth what ever someone it willing to pay for it. Thats the American way. |

I really don't see that she did anything wrong and she has no reason to be embarrassed IMO. She's trying to assess the value of something Ferrari-related she wants to sell. Why shouldn't she get the highest price people are willing to pay?

Dear Horsefly - I've never blushed in front of a computer screen until now! Ok, I feel sufficiently stupid. I truly didn't know ferrarichat was a forum for buying & selling - I just needed to find someone with expertise to educate me. I don't care how I sell it - I just want a fair price. Sorry. Meanwhile, I'm trying to get a picture uploaded. Standby... |

WARNING: BITING SARCASM FOLLOWS! I've got a great idea. Why not USE the Ferrarichat bulletin board to determine a value for my Ferrari merchandise and then run off to E-Bay and put it up for auction so that the guys on Ferrarichat can bid against each other after they've helped me determine what my merchandise is worth. The moral of the story: Don't offer to sell Ferrarichat members your Ferrari merchandise. Instead, hype it up on Ferrarichat and then run off to E-Bay and try to milk it for all it's worth. |

Donna, I think I know what that is. It is one of the official F-dealer flags they have at either dealerships of on fairs. There is a guy in Austria that sells them. They run up to $70 from him. I have asked Skip here from the chat if he could do one for me and he said $66 Just to give you an idea.

Martin - Thanks for the input. Once I've done a little research I intend to list it on ebay, so you can keep a lookout for it there if you're interested. Tom - You may be right. There are some banners on ebay that run in that price range. However, the one I have is considerably bigger - over seven feet tall - so I'm still trying to find a comparable one to go by. Thanks. |

I am trying to determine the value of something I've had in storage for years. It's a yellow, 86" x 56" (huge!), Ferrari banner/flag with the black horse logo on it. It was purchased in 1994 for around $100. It has a 3-1/2", green/white/red sleeve at the top to hang it from. Is anyone familiar with this item? Are there a bunch out there or is this relatively rare? |
