True Steve about carb adjustments and the filter, you can't get to the Sinistra bank of carbs with the air box in place. I guess the TR's FI has been giving you problems, seeing as you made that comment? |

Bret -- I believe most carb/injection "adjustments" done with a wrench or screwdriver only affect the low RPM range where the pressure drop thru any air filter is mousenuts so I'd be very surprised if installing a K&N required some specific retweaking. In fact, these low speed adjustments are usually done with no air filter in place at all. For high RPM, the injection system typically "measures" the airflow somehow and then adds the appropriate amount fuel for that particular airflow so it should all work OK I think. JMHOs, Steve Magnusson (who has learned way more about Bosch KE-Jetronic in the last few months than I ever wanted to!) |

- When you switch a 308 to K&N do you need to adjust the engine to compensate the increased airflow? - I understand how it would possibly make the car run on the lean side, but how do you adjust this? - And how do you how much to adjust it? Thanks, Bret |

Do you have any K&N filters for a 308QV? Thanks, Bret |

I've found that www.trutlands.com have the best price for the UFI filter (about $17). They don't have K&N though (they seem to be about $89). |

These guys: http://www.performanceintl.com have the best price I've ever seen for a carbed 308 K&N filter. They don't seem to list the 33-2518 for the '85 QVs (which according to http://www.ferrariclub.com/faq/knfilter.html is what you need), but maybe they can get it anyway. There is an argument that the K&N when super fresh has a lower pressure drop than a paper filter, but it's filtering is a bit less effective (i.e., a partial dirty K&N filters better). Nevertheless, I personally plan to switch over to a K&N in the future. JMHOs, Steve M. |

I need to pick up a few oil filters and an air filter for my 85 308QV. I think I'm going to continue using UFI for oil, but I'm gonna make the switch to K&N for the air filter. - Where would be the best place to get these, and what are the approximate costs? - What are your opinions on using these filters, are there better combinations? Thanks, Bret |
