Autocar of the UK (Issue dated 13.06.2001) did a story on this and have the car with disguise(black) and without any disguise, in RED too. Looks absolutely gorgeous with a much more refined tail. They say it will only be produced in coupe form and should be the fastest production car in the world (0-100mph in under 6 secs.). Set to take the crown from the Maclaren F1. Should also be more affordable than the F! (for those who can afford it). Autocar is available on www.whatcar.co.uk |

You think this one is bad, what about the one before this, that was a 348 stretched about three feet behind the doors? What does Ferrari do with all of these prototypes? Do they still have the junkyard behind one of the factory buildings (that's where they used to toss all of them before)? I don't care what anybody says, I still love the 408 4WD prototypes (kinda looks like my GT4, but better). |

Even in disguise I prefer the look of the new car to the F50. Although it will be tough to top (specs aside) the F40, which is one of the all-time greats, IMO. I've also heard 7spd. tranny for the F60 - with gear change buttons on the wheel as w/genuine F1 cars. I wouldn't mind having one. |

The rear spoiler is still missing and the black body paneling is a disguise. Just wait and see. |

I'm sure the prototype is operating under disguise since it looks like an NSX on massive doses of steroids! |

This is definitely not the final product. All that black paneling is on top covering the final shape. At least I hope so. :-) Ernesto |

if you look at the larger picture on the link submitted by Stephen, you'll notice the top of the car - gullwing doors. Interesting move for Pinninafarina. |

Ya'll remember the story about the ugly duckling. Sorry but I hope Pinafarina is not done with this one. I agree with william, gimme a F40LM! |

One of the other posting just jogged my memory of something you all might be interested in. A funny thing happened to me on the way to the Galleria(Ferrari Museum in Maranello), having just had lunch at the Cavallino(some tomato gnochi stuff, I should have ordered something else), I was minding my own business walking down the street when I got passed by a super quite, flattly black painted - sorta kit carish thing!! Traveling at no more than 5 or 10 mph. It took me about 2 seconds to realize that this was really the F60 or F/X car, or what ever you want to call it. How fricking wild was this!! Damn I was walking and I had the camera in the car, and I just started running after the F60, mentally kicking myself in the ass for not having the camera in hand. I don't know why I started running after the car, like a that dog that alway runs after the post man in those slap stick comedies. As I ran, all the red shirted Ferrari factory workers(who were on lunch break)just looked at me, running by, like I was an idiot in jeans and a dress shirt! I don't have to tell you that even in the F60's kit carish state, it ran faster than I did, and I soon lost sight of it. I knew it had to be the F60 because while I was driving around Maranello, trying to find my way to the front of the Ferrari Factory gate area, I got lost some where in the back of the factory on a public street, and I was able to look through an unprotected fence and see the same car on the factory grounds for a brief second or two. Please tell me this, I have to go back to the factory in September, when it re-opens, would it be of interest to anyone to see any photos of the car, if I can get my act together this time? I mean the car might not even surface next time, but who knows? I could ask our friendly webmaster if we could post any photos that I was lucky enough to get, so everyone could see? For what ever it is worth, the word I got was 7 speed F1 trany, and coming to a lucky people the world over very soon, like the end of this year! I hope I won't have egg on my face later on, if none of this comes to pass, but that is what I heard from my people over in Italy and their info typically tends to be reliable. Ciao Thomas |
