Thanks everyone for their well wishes.

Well, my backseat will be used to seat my daughter (age 2). She loves cars, and I already have plans to raise her as the first U.S. Born Female F1 driver (for Ferrari, of course) in about 16 more years...

I can't wait to get the car. Mark Spencer is predicting a date in mid december for the work to be completed. We've got the paperwork completed, and I should get my title tomorrow.

I was planning to fly up with my wife and daughter. They will visit her sister, and I will pick up the car. Then they will fly back, and I will drive back.

I can't wait. I want the car now. I want to fly up there and just sit in it. You get the idea. I keep telling myself that the wait isn't so bad. If I had the money and bought a new 360, I'm sure I'd have to wait alot longer on their waiting list.

Thanks everyone.

Dom

Hey, Dom: Have you gotten any sort of time line for delivery? Are you having it shipped, or are you driving it? Maybe you'd like to have it personally delivered (hint, hint).

Hans.

Hi
First, I forgot to congratulate Dom. Excellent choice, you will be grinning for at least the next few years every time you drive the car.

Hans is way off, Howie is very close. Unless of course the only real Ferrari is a GT4 :-)

My '76 GT4 is in front, then Paul Newman's 308, another 308, then a BMW and almost hidden way in the back is Rolly's GT4. Our house hosted the reception for the FCA Eastern & Central Canada region Europa Rally this year. Total of 28 Ferrari's parked on the street. Neighbours loved it :-) as did we.

My guess would be as follows:
Starting from the front is a GT4, then 2 308s, a Volvo S40 and I think either another 308 or 328.

Martin: If you're not familiar with the Ferrari Bear, it makes vroom vroom noises and moves it's feet and ears when you squeeze it's little paws. What's totally weird is that recently it has started doing this stuff automatically when I drive. And nothing is even near it's paws to trigger it.

Dom...enjoy and USE the car. I put about 7K miles/year on mine. The more you use it the better it runs. People with actual legs will not fit in the back seat.

Dom

Congrats on your purchase.

I lived up north for a year and know Mark well. He is very knowledgeable. Next time you talk to him tell him to call me. Where 'bouts are you located?

Dom: Now all you need is a passenger for that totally worthless back seat.

Congratulations on your purchase. I'm glad you were able to work something out with Marc.

Dave: Mine's a cosmetic twin. Color, interior, everything. Also, I once looked into buying this particular car, so I knew about the smog.

What's disgusting me at the moment, however, is that I passed on this car because I found one with lower mileage. Now my car has the same mileage as Dom's (new) car.

Let's see - some quick math - I guess that the difference in price of the cars, plus maintenance expenses, misc repairs, etc. equates to about $1/mile for the distance I've driven my car. Hmmmm.... Maybe I should have taken the bus.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. To answer some questions, she's got about 23k on the clock, and she had been retrofitted with smog equipment about a year ago so she passes smog. Here is a photo.

Wow! I negotiated the deal today, and as soon as the paperwork is complete, I will be the proud owner of a 1975 308 GT4 #10688.

First off, I owe lots of thanks to Hans Hansen and Taek-Ho Kwon for all of the help they have given me throughout the process. I think it's wonderful how our common love of the marque inspired them to help out a complete stranger. Ferrarichat is GREAT!!!

The car is currently in the hands of Marc Spencer of Veloce Speedesign in northern california.

I probably won't get the car for a while though. Marc will be doing the 30k mile service, and installing an electronic ignition and stainless exhaust for me. When it's ready, I will fly up to Northern California and drive it home.

I can't wait!!!

Thanks Ferrarichatters!!!
