David; to me a high-end detail shop is one that comes to your house. A guy that cares for the work he does. I would not bring my car to anybody and leave it there. If you do a good detail it will take a day at least. So you can not wait. My guy has everything on his truck. Including soft water, that ran through filters. He is riding with this watertank on the back and comes to your house. He uses great expensive products and knows exactly what to do. When he comes to my house he pickes up 3-5 jobs per day in the neighborhood. As I said he is not cheap. $ 300 is not your everyday Citgo-wax-job. Yet, I would not let anybody else on my car. I am not sure about the others here. Who else would drop their car for one day or two to have it detailed? |

I've owned the car twelve months. I've had three complete details from Ferrari of Los Gatos. It has not cost me a dime! Every time I stop by the shop they wash it for me if I got a few minutes to spare. I'm considered a "good customer." Definition of a good customer is one who spends $18,000.00 in that twelve month period. I define it as a fool and his money. For that kind of bucks, they should detail it for free. Dan |

On the subject of detailing, what kind of prices are you paying for a complete detail, and does that include the engine bay? I was considering financing a high-end detail shop in my area and any help you could give would be great.... |

I can not tell you about SFO, but here in Miami I have a guy coming to my house and he takes anywhere from one day to two days for a full detail. Inside out. He was working on my BMW 840 for 3 days at the first time I used him. What a dfference! Make sure to get a knowledgable guy. Looks like the guy at F-Los Gatos knows what he is doing. Most "detailers" will swirl your car stupid, take off loads of clearcoat because it is faster that way. You pay at the end of the day not knowing how much he has taken a way from you. Again, Eddie her ein Miami uses a paint gauge to find out how much paint you have left on your car in all spots. Also good to ID repaired and repainted cars. Concerning the loaner...I'd rather drive the Ferrari truck than a Chevy Lumina rent a car. At least they offered the truck! |

You would think Ferrari would give you loaners for the prices they charge you. They offered to let me take the company truck once. That thing is huge, so I didn't James I liked their detailing job as well, it came free with the 35K service. However, I am never going back there ever again. Well maybe for a Ferrari cap. |

Yosi, I agree with Tom about Ferrari of Los Gatos. The detailer's name is Craig and he does a very good job. When I first purchased my black '91 348 the spider webs were deep and many. Craig made it look like a new car. All the spider webs disappeared! Dan |

I just had the detailer at Ferrari of Los Gatos detail my 95 F355 and he did a fantastic job. Took out all the spider webs and touched up the rock chips. Tom |

I have been looking for a good car detailing shop I can trust with my precious 85 308QV. Does anyone know of any good shop or independent detailer servicing in the Silicon Valley area? Thanks in advance! |
