I'm the youngest of three boys so when my brother was 16 I was 7. I've been a Ferrari nut since I was probably about 8 looking at all the pictures in my brothers R&T. I thought the TR was the best car and cooler than the Countach. Then he got a real nice poster of a Testarossa (which I still try to get from him as he has turned to the P-car). The poster was very cool and still is as it was made on a computer so you could see the engine and workings of the car. Of course my passion has not died since but only continues to grow the more I'm around them and reading post here and at my site. So I guess I'm part of the 80s generation of Ferraris although with age I've grown to like the classics of the 60s quite a bit. |

I'm 32 years old. I grew up hooked on the Countach. I used to tell my parents that I'd own a Countach when I grew up. I was 11 or 12 at the time. My dad would say "Yeah, right." and my mom would say "Don't knock his dreams. He may own one someday." Well, reality set in and I realized my Dad was right: I'm not going to get a Countach. I'm going to buy a Ferrari. he he he I knew little of F-cars growing up since I was so infatuated with the Countach. I got a weekend job in high school (my first job) and on the occasions my boss picked me up for work, he'd come get me in his 308GTS. I remember the first time I heard those dual Ferrari airhorns honking in our driveway. What a SWEET sound!! Even though I was still a Lambo-nut, I enjoyed the heck out of those F-car rides to work. What a way for a high school kid to be well adjusted about cars, huh? Long story long, I'm a HUGE convertible fan and I will always like anything (past, present, or future) coming out of Maranello in Rosso Corsa and a drop top. My Ferrari purchase will be a Mondial Cabriolet. ...now, if only they'd put the 456 Cabriolet into production... |

Im a teenager and actually, I am in love with the older generations of Ferraris. Of course I wouldnt mind owning a brand new one , but I prefer the styles of the 70s and 80s. My favorite Ferrari's are the 308/328, Mondial, Testarossa, and 400/412. Of course, you can't forget the 288 either. The 288 is the lowest Ferrari ive seen in person...The top goes up to my belly button and I am only 5'8''! |

I'm only 16, but I'm in love with Ferraris. I really only know about the newer ones (i.e. 355, 360, 456, 550, F50, Enzo). The first Ferrari I saw (when I first started becoming interested in cars) was a yellow F355 Spyder. I've also seen a 456 GTA, a 360 Spider (in the rain, in Vancouver, if you can believe that), a few 360 Modenas, and 2 550 Maranellos, and a few older ones. I'm not really into the older Ferraris, the pre-F355 ones, but who knows, I will probably start getting interested in them later on. |

Good point Charles... now I understand why I enjoy the 348's design so much... it's like a kid Testarossa, F40, and even 328. The F355 is one of my favorites for a long time... it didn't wow me the first time I saw it like the Testarossa did when I was a little boy. I'm the 80's+ Ferrari nut gen. Still like the older models though... ;p |

I love all Ferraris but something about the look of the 348's and 355's just hits me right. Actually I think the F40 was the best looking Ferrari ever but I can't afford one. I got the 348 because Pininfarina combined design elements from the F40, 328, and Testerossa into the design of the 348 which I think makes it a nice substitute for the F40 looks. |

In 1968, when I was 14, I saw a Miura in the south of France. Have been fanatic Lamborghini lover of the older models. But when it became time to buy an exotic, I did not fit in an Espada (one of the most gorgeous designs in the world), so I bought a 400i 5sp instead. |

That 'Breadvan' F car, after seeing that I just knew I had to have a F car sometime soon! (yes I am joking) Joking aside, in terms of road cars it was probably the shape of the 308 that gave me the bug. |

I'm 34 and I remember playing with a 512BB as a kid and I must say I still think that car looks great. I also love the 308/328 lines. I much prefer the F40 to the F50. The F50 doesn't look as purposeful. I remember loving the 355 when it came out but it took me a long time to warm to the 360. The Enzo took a bit of getting used to aswell. Maybe it's my age and it'll take me even longer to love the next Ferraris! |

Love everything from the 166 MM to the 365 GTB/4. After that (with the exception of the F-40), nothing really blows my skirt up. My age? Take a guess. |

My first contact with a Ferrari was with the white 512TR from Miami Vice. As a kid I was completly hooked on the serie. I'm only 19 so at the moment I like the smooth-lined Ferrari's more. So I prefer the F50 (V12 + better smooth looks) over the F40 (V8 + a bit too squared). The 360 and the Testarossa are also 2 of my favorites, were the Testarossa is just a youth sentiment and that V12, Super! Offcourse I also like the rest of the Fcars, but these are just my favorites.

I'm 26. Love the older cars, although the F512M was the first Ferrari I had ever been/driven in. Because of the 512 I do have a soft spot for the Testas. I also love the 308 dearly because my father almost bought one but never did, and I got a lot of exposure to them. But the true beauties are the older cars... 53 250 MM Coupe, 54 375 MM Plus, 55 410 S and 410 S Coupe, 63 330 America, 64 250 LM, 64 250 Lusso, blah blah blah...oh, and the 275 GTB/4 too! |

I'm 34, so for me it was Magnum P.I. and Miami Vice that was the core of the obsession. I grew up with the typical 80s posters in my room -- 308, TR, Countach, SR-71 Blackbird. As I began to realize that Fcars were actually obtainable over the past few years, I've learned a lot more about the older cars. Still, it's the 308/328 & Boxer/TR that really defines Ferrari for me. I wouldn't mind having a vintage front-engined 12 cyl., but I had to get the 308 first. (Actually, I ended up with a 328 -- newer car, still the same basic lines, it was a no-brainer) |

I am 36 and it hit me with a 1978 cover of R&T with a silver 308GTS. I promised everyone I would own a Ferrari. I got a 328 simply because it was newer but still had the lines. The 308/328, 512BBs are still it for me. The new Ferraris are great but they just dont do it for me like the older ones which have so much history and character. I have so much emotion tied into the old ones. |

When I was in high school, I used to drive the half hour to the Ft. Worth BMW dealership, where they sold 308s. Spent a lot of time drooling over them (never noticed the BMWs). I never considered actually getting to own one, but after an unexpected series of events, and lots of research on F-chat, I picked one up 2 weeks ago! Pretty damn exciting!

I fell in love around 1970 when I was 6 or so, saw A 330P4 & thats all she wrote. I still think its 1 of the most beautiful cars ever built. I like all Ferraris from the 50s till today, not wild about the 360 or the Enzo though |

When I was in my teens, I read about Surtees wining the F1 title in the Ferrari. Because I was also a motorcycle racing enthusiast, I thought he walked on water. However, I am a realist, and I bought a modern car (355). I would like a 328 (89) because I always liked the model, and that year is the final version of the great design. Art |

To me the 308/328 series of ferrari are the most attractive cars Ferrari has ever built. There is something in the way the lines flow on those cars that is just...well...perfect. That car could be in production today and still look new. Not to many cars can be 20 years old and have people say "Is that a new Ferrari?" |

Well, i think it's been pretty well established that car guys go nuts over what was hot when they were young & formative. That's also why, in the case of expensive cars, that you find a lot of guys(and gals) who buy 10-15 yr old cars when they finally get some $$ together in their late 20s/early 30s. Car auctions also make a point of hyping stuff that's 30-40 yr old, as they're often targeting the 40-50 yr old guy who's got mucho disposable $$ in his pocket. Following that line of reasoning, 1960's cars have probably seen most of the appreciation they'll get, and goodies from the 1970s/80s will be next. This'll get a little complicated, tho, since most of the cars from the 1970s are garbage 'cause of EPA restrictions(Ferraris are a notable exception, however, but very low volume during this time, so prices could end up all over the map. Add in grey market for the 1970s-early 80s 12 cyl cars, and it does get a bit messy). Anything made before 1960(exspecially before 1950) is likely stale, as people who were directly influenced by these cars are getting up in age a bit, and either dying off or not too interested(those who are probably already have whatever they want). In my case, i never was too interested in hot wheels(other than early 1960s 'vettes, which still look cool), but when i started getting some $$ and decided to look at the car biz, it became very obvious to me very quickly that Ferraris had sumpin' others didn't, and whatever it was(pizzaz), they had it in spades. Personally, i like a sampling of goodies from mid 1960s-present, but can't afford everthing i like(nuthin' new here). |

You guys can laugh, but the first Ferrari I remember coming out was the 355. I remember other Ferraris (tr, F40) but the 355 was the first I remember seeing as the latest and greatest on TV, in magazines, etc. My 308 is only two years younger than me come to think of it. So, I'm not old enough to even have been alive before Ferrari's "mass" produced days. I got into Ferrari's when I was looking to get a sports car and the 308 fit the price range, knew basically nothing about Ferraris at this point but knew somewhat about cars, check it out, was in great shape, fought all the discouraging people about high maintenance, a rich man's toy, too young, etc., bought it, and the rest is history. |

First saw a Ferrari in 1975 or 76. A Blue Daytona on the New Jersey Turnpike. I wouldn't have noticed if my older brother hadn't pointed out the car coming up from behind. Around that time while living in Maryland, Mom was driving me to a piano lesson when I noticed the Hotel we always pass by had a parking lot full of red cars. I begged her to stop at the hotel after my lesson. I was soo distracted during piano study. I just wanted it to be over with so I could go see the red cars. I remember being intantly hooked on a 308 with Boxer trim. Today I can honestly say that I've got at least 2 favorite cars from every decade of production. |

i don't remember the first ferrari i saw nor do i ever remember when i became hooked... my father was nuts about them, so i guess it's been in my blood, since birth... i always had matchbox cars when i was kid... i amassed quite a collection... no longer are those in my possession, however my 1:18 collection continues to grow (only 1 F car though, and one on the way)... As far as favorites go, i'm drawn to the 360's... i'm not sure why, the Enzo looks so much more exotic in my opinion and the F40 & F50 are gorgeous, too... Testarossas have always held a special place in my heart, too... there's the 308s, the F355s- oh, fooey, i can't decide... i guess the 360 makes me well up with the most tears when i see it... a red 360 is what me to write Ferrari Novembre... (and by the way, hot wheels sucks...! i bought two 1:18 cars- a Porsche Carerra 4 & an orange S7- the S7 was by hot wheels and the craftsmanship just sucks... but when my black Carerra 4 came out of the box- ooooooh, she looks sweet...! Now if only exoticar.com would hurry with my Enzo...) |

I'm a fan of the 60s and 70s cars, mostly (and I'm 36). The new ones are cool, don't get me wrong, but I really think the front engine V12s from the Lusso to the Daytona and 365GTC/4 are what I love. Don't laugh at me, but I also really like the 2+2s of all the eras, from the 250GTE to the 456. |

Well my passion began when I was 12 years old with Magnum, it prompted me to look for a magazine about Ferraris. I bought Cavallino #30 with a 288 GTO on the cover. That is the car that I hold most dear. When I see pictures of the car I get butterflies. I have only seen a handful in person and they get my blood pumping fast. The funny thing is that the 288 GTO is the exception, I find my self drawn to the vintage cars. My top five favorite Ferraris are 1)1985 288 GTO 2)1964 250 LM 3)1964 330 GT 2+2 4)1947 125S 5)1951 250MM Vignale Spider. I find the 328 to be the newest Ferrari that really gets me going. The new ones are beatiful and exciting, but I miss "il commendator's" direct influence. |

I'm 31 and when I was 8 I saw a red 308 gts parked across the street. I snapped a couple of photos and put them in an album. Then I saw Magnum P.I. and I was hooked. Miami Vice was the clincher. I got a 308 last year and a boxer a few months ago. Martin - I still have my Matchbox 308 gtb. BYW OT but the difference between Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars is that Matchbox only makes production cars and Hot Wheels makes production and fantasy cars. |

The first Ferrari that I had seen up close was a 365 GTB/4 Daytona when I was 5 years old. I was with some of my neighborhood friends when a Dr. that lived down the street from me would be driving it home. I remember the sound of the engine most of all, that was the coolest thing to me. I was like music to my ears. The owner was so happy as he waved at us driving by. I've been a fan ever since then of the 60's & 70's Ferraris. |

Well, I'm 31 and I really like any Ferraris, particularly the 70s and 80s cars, mainly the 308s and Boxers. I still have all the toy Ferraris I used to play with, now I have a real one to play with! My dad had a 250 Lusso and a Lancia Aurelia and he LOVES the 250s/330s era cars. I can remember being at FAF Motorcars in 1984 when the first GTO arrived, I was awestruck. I told my mom that is what I wanted for my bar mitzvah, she laughed...but I did tell her that day that I would have a Ferrari of my own someday. |

Well I am 24 years old. I have a tendency to the newer cars. I like the F-50 over the F-40 because it much more smooth. The 360's and the Enzo are two of my favorites. I do not dislike the older cars but I am more a fan of modern technology. I remember the first time I really noticed a Ferrari was back when Miami vice was still on. Something about the slits in the doors on his car caught my eye. Now I do have tons of respect for all the older cars and realize that is where all the new ones come from but I have not seen too many older Ferrari's in person. Eventually I'll be the one talking about the newer cars as classics but that's ok with me |

Saw a Daytona back in 1977 when I lived in CA. Then a week later, I saw a Lambo Miura and couldn't believe how low that thing was. That got me going on the exotic car craze. I would have to say my generation is 70's to the present (since I own a 360). I'm just starting to learn more about the classic Ferraris. They're interesting but don't really wow me like the newer stuff (exception is the 250GTO). |

First Ferrari exposure was Magnum and soon after Miami Vice. I had a 288 GTO poster and 1:18. First Ferraris I saw in person were in little ole Salina, KS. There was a Testarossa and a 328 GTS. Now I'm into the late 50's to 330/365 era. |

I'm 26, and my first true love was in 1987 when Road & Track featured the F40 on the cover. This car introduced me to the world of Ferrari, and I have been in love since. I would spend my afternoons watching old Magnum P.I. reruns in order to see his beautiful 308. I went to the library and checked out of R&T issues, and first saw the 288 GTO. I fell in love again, but deeper this time! I love the TRs, the Mondials, the 308/328, the F40 and 288 GTO. My love goes as far back as 512 BBs, and the 308 GT4. While I like the new generations, I don't see the 348/355 or 360 in the same light, nor does the F50 hit me the same way the F40 does. So where is your love? Most guys older than me have that feeling for the older models; the 365s, the 250 GTs, etc etc, and some younger guys seems to like the 348/355s. It seems like the era in which you were a child influences the Ferraris you love as an adult. Now don't get me wrong, I love ALL Ferraris, but my top ten lists is flooded with late 70's to late 80's models. What about you? |
