Also start with a small hole and then go up to the size you need. After you're through with the hole champher (Break with a countersink) both edges of the holes very slightly. This will stress relieve and keep it from cracking around the hole longer.
To avoid cracking for even longer use an insert a-
la the ones I show in the P4 thread to attach the plexi rear window. Instead of a sheet metal screw, drill and tap the L bracket and use a round head machine screw. One more trick put a rubber washer under the head of the bolt so the metal bolt doesn't press on the cover.

To drill the covers I reccomend you visit a specialty plastics store for a 'special' plexiglass drilling drill bit.

You'll be glad you did.

They are mounted with an L shaped bracket, 2 rivets into the bodywork and a Phillips screw to attach to the light cover. In addition, two very small pins are inserted at the top of the light covers and the small rim above the light itself. I have two high resolution pictures for anyone interested.

Originally they were mounted with little "L" shaped brackets. You can find some that will work at Home Depot (cabinet or shelf hardware).

Install them anyway you wish as there is no set way. I have seen a lot of covers and each of them are done a little differently. With that said I will email you a picture of our covers

Does anyone have a good picture of a 246 with the head light covers installed? I'm in the process of installing a set on my car and thought it might come in handy.
