Sandra, I saw the picture of your car that Rob posted. You had made a previous comment that you showed the car. I looked at www.concorso.com in the exhibitors section and saw your name. I live close to Quail Lodge. There will be a number of us that enjoy ferrarichat at Quail Lodge as exhibitors from northern CA. Your car is an unusual color and will stand out! We'll see you there. Leonardo: Well I entered it in '98 in the Concorso Italiano(Monterey), and since then just little local shows. As far as prep work...ah yes, well there's a story unto itself ;). It had gold plated emblems, shift gate, ashtray and gads of pinstriping EVERYWHERE...man it was gross. So it took me about 4 months of detailing: interior, engine bay, paint and finding the correct wheels again before it was ready to show. It had the gold mesh Epsilons on it when I got it...remember those? Like the BBS, polished lips...really ugly on a Ferrari. Anyway, it was truly a labor of love and I did take home a platinum (first place) in class at Monterey...I had such a lump in my throat when I drove it up to the podium I couldnt say a thing other than "thank you" when presented with the plaque LOL. Dan: How'd you find out I was entered in the Concorso? Their website? Are you entered? Please do come by and say "Hello"! Look forward to meeting you  . You�re lucky to have a friend like that. It took six months to find my car, and apart from the great help from everyone on this site, I was on my own. How many times have you shown the car, what kind of prep work did you do, and how did you do? I got mine in May, and want to show it next year. Its taken about a month to do a thorough interior cleaning, including reconditioning the leather. The paint is next. Right now I�m having an arguement with ten frozen wheel bolts�and losing. I want to put the stock wheels back on the car. | ||

Hi everyone that responded . Sam: my car is US spec and what else would you like to know about it? It's all stock, no Tubi, but I do show it so I want it that way. Leonardo: I found the car here in San Diego thru my friend who just happens to be an independant Ferrari/Lambo/Maserati mechanic. I told him what I wanted (84 or 85 QV, NOT red) and if he ran across a well maintained one for sale, give me a shout. I actually wanted a higher mileaged one because I figured it would run better (if maintained properly) than one that had sat in a garage it's whole life. This one, while having low mileage, was driven 5 days a week! Only 10 miles round trip but enough to get the fluids up to temp. Mechanic said it was one of the tightest ones he'd driven in quite awhile. Price was more than reasonable so I bought it. Color has grown on me, and alot of Ferrari owners have never seen prugna so it makes for a nice, rare model that attracts attention at shows and meets. Most asked question: Is this a factory color?! LOL | ||
