That same site shows a '77 308GTS as having 255 bhp so I'd view the 365BB power rating as a little towards the high side. Early '70s also saw the change to S.A.E. net bhp specs so this difference could be in there too (if the 365BB introduction was before the mandatory change). |

The 365 BB had 380 HP at 7,700 RPMs from 4.4 litres with carburetors The 512 BB had 360 HP at 6,600 RPMs from 5.0 litres with carburetors The 512iBB had 340 HP at 6,000 RPMs from 5.0 litres with Fuel injection Never imported int US these are grey market cars. Jim search the archive for info on boxers/bb. I don't think they had 380 hp. A little less. Many guys here love them and some have them. I think they are a little overlooked because they preceeded the TR which was such a hit |

I have a question? What is the history behind the 512 bb? It seems to me, like it's a 308 that doesn't f--- around. I know it's a flat 5 liter, 12 cyl with about 380 hp but, you really don't hear anything about them though. How was the handling? Performance? Is maintenace outrageous? Thanks, Jim |
