Ming,

It will be a good idea to get into the habit of getting the handbrake handle out of the way first before you climb out of the car. I have had a few close shaves.

What you do not want to find yourself to be in, is the situation when you are about to make a grand entrance for your company's annual ball at the Grand Hyatt, and as you gracefully step out of your 456 amidst all the floodlights and cameras, Zzzzzzz-ip!!!

Jason,

I will talk to Ming about it.

If Ming gets one, I will get one.

How's that for friendship!

Jason -- I have to check with the Agent if the installation of a third party exhaust will void the warranty?!

Will check and let you know soon.

Matrin-C -- Actually Black and Blue are both my first priority but after seeing Kenneth Silve one, I admit it is a beauty (it looks better than the one in the show room at Ferrari Agent)

Kenneth -- If I accidentally touched the hand brake with my leg, it automatically got release to ground level without releasing the park brake and my pants were still in good shape! :>)

Jason --- I am not sure if there is any different in installing a US spec. Tubi on a right hand drive Euro spec. 456?!

James ---- I Got used to RHD and find no problem with LHD as well but I will stay a bit close to one side when I drove in Canada.

Cheers,

Damn, Ming, they put the steering wheel on the wrong side :-)

I love the blue but I must admit that the silver just became my #1 choice. close followed by blue though.

trying to find a 456 is hard but now trying to find a silver one at the right price is even harder.

damn

Those are very good looking cars. If anyone is looking for a Tubi exhaust for a 456 I can send you a new set for only $1700 + shipping. Email me if you are interested.

When I drive in the UK I always have a bit of a problem. I find having someone in the passenger seat helps. For some reason I also find myself driving too close to the right curb. (Other Americans have commented on this to me) It's not so much left hand shifting as 1st is where I normally find 5th.
Even though I didn't expect to I find the paddle shifter in my Maserati Coupe very easy to use. This seems to be a good world car solution.

James,

FYI, I have no problem with right-hand-drive and left-hand-shift either.

James, Although I'm not a Ferrari owner I do drive a right hand car with left hand shift (I live in the UK). I guess it's what you're used to. Although when I drove a left-hand drive Ferrari I found I did prefer shifting with my right hand. I had a go in a Formula Ford a couple of years ago and was surprised how easy it was to get used to changing gears with my right hand.
I think it must be harder for right-handed people to transfer their driving from the US to the UK than the other way round.

Do you guys have trouble with right hand drive left hand shift? My race cars are right hand drive but they have right hand shift.

Ming,

Have you suffered any torn trousers caused by the awkward handbrake handle that keeps getting in the way whilst you are stepping out of the car?

After you have engaged the handbrake handle, it can be lowered without releasing the handbrake. I have built up a habit of lowering the handle (N.B. not releasing it) before I step out of the car.

The choice is up to you.

Yeah I gotta say I think those are the nicest pics I've seen so far of a 456. Nice work Ming. Usually the 456 doesn't come out to great in photos IMO, in person it's awesome though. I've only seen it once moving on the street, what a cool car.

Thanks guys! I love the color combination too but the Cream interior is a bit hard to keep as you can easily make a mark/dirt on it. Any good cleaning method?

I have to bring the car to the Ferrari agent to get rid of the third party Immobilizer alarm system installed by the previous owner as it suddenly kicked in this morning when I stopped in front of the traffic light and everything was cut off. I then released the alarm for a few times in order to start the car again.

I don't need this bloody unreliable alarm system.

Here is the picture for the interior.

Cheers

Randy,

Thanks for the video link. I was initially hooked onto that site too, and even paid to join its membership club.

But the forum there is almost dead. It is nothing like ferrarichat. We have a great family here.

Ah, yes,

I did have the rearing parking sensor system installed. But it is not a Ferrari option, although IM installed it for me at cost for $2,500.

Martin--- Yes, it was the one I kept asking for silly questions.

Kenneth --- Martin is right. Your digital camera is too advance. Either down size them to lower resolution or Use a old fashioned digital cam. like mine ;>)

Hi Everyone,

I would like to thank all of you guys for speeding up the purchase of my First F-car. It was really great to learn a lot of info. and met some very nice guys in HK from this great site.

The car is so easy to drive and you really feel like driving a smaller car.I have to use my Sony dv cam at the moment as another high res. cam is under repair.

Also posted a thread on the Technical column on queries of this car

Here are the pictures.
