I guess he's at least smart enough to realize that he can be traced through his email response. He just hopes someone is stupid enough to send him money with no questions asked...

I emailed the guy yesterday and told him to post a picture of his car. I also told him that next time he wanted to do something this dumb not to take a picture from a listing that was only 3 ahead of his.

No word from him yet.

Somebody must have called them and they got in touch with e-Bay.

Also proves that the this guy is not the owner, thus not authorized to offer this car, and the car in the pictures is not the car this guy has/dreams of having.

This is what e-Bay sent me, so they do get on somebody's case if they do these things:

Dear Martin wiescholek ([email protected]),

The following listing:

1874520021 - Ferrari : 355 Berlinetta

was ended early by eBay for a listing violation. A Verified Rights Owner, such as a copyright, trademark, or patent owner, notified eBay that the item or material contained in the listing infringes its intellectual property rights. eBay takes no position on the authenticity or authorized nature of such items, but we take appropriate action when requested by a Verified Rights Owner. Since the listing was ended early, you as a bidder are not required to complete the transaction. Sellers that feel their listings may have been ended in error have the opportunity to get in touch with the relevant person or company or contact eBay.

DES, I hear you...but doesn't Ebay do an autorization to validate the credit card as well as some sort of NOW account verification? I know, I know. They probably stole all that from someone else.

I was wondering the same thing. Ebay says that you must provide a VIN number as well, but none of his listings show a VIN...

Double standard for crooks and honest vendors I guess...

Kev...

All the info they enter is just as fake as the sale they're conducting (or trying to conduct...)

I must be missing something. When I joined Ebay, they required my credit card #, checking account #, address, phone, etc, etc, etc. I was a little reluctant to give out all this info, but I did. How can guys like this hide? If I tried this BS, FBI, FTC, AG, and local police would be knocking on my door in 15 minutes.

I think this is the same guy that had the f50, f40, lambo diablo for half price on ebay last month with another lame excuse of having to leave the country. Ebay pulled it after 2 days. Like a dealer wouldn't be willing to pay these prices in cash for all these cars without the ebay hassle. Anyone that would wire this money and then wait the 48 hrs for his car to be shipped deserves what he will get!!

I liked the "Anyone that has the winning bid, and does not submit payment will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law." statement

A bit ironic huh?

I just sent him a note bitching him out. No way he is in Indianapolis and his 355 is in Oregon and his lambo is a stolen pic. Again if you read all his posts he is trying way to hard to sound legit and his sentence structure sounds like a kids' writing to me. If you can afford $500K in cars there is no way you would have a fire sale like that when I am sure any dealer would pay you half your cars value.

Well it's totally possible the divorce came up all of a sudden, or hes allowing the dealership to sell the F355. But what makes me suspicious is why sell the Lambo for less than half the price ($115,000) when it's practically brand new. The car goes for around $273,000 from the dealer? Even if hes in a bind to sell it, he can post it for $200,000 and it would still get snatched up in no time!

I attempted to notify eBay last night, however there doesn't seem to be a straight forward way of doing that. I used their "stolen property" reporting form. I guess we will see if it did any good.

I bid on the 355 and if I win the bid I will fly out to see the car, the title and take both home. Why not, just have to do it right. You don't buy a home without seeing it, why buy a car for that kind of money and not see it?

I can vouch for the 355's location. I was at Northwest Investment Cars yesterday afternoon. That car is 15 feet inside the front door.

Hmmmm..... Interesting.

I think his wording in the add sounds very juvenile. And I have seen that 355 pic as of last week with a different seller I think. Come to think of it, wasn't that the one you were looking at J.Scott?
