I was jut looking through CAR magazine and some guy or dealer is selling one for 112000 pounds. But get this.. it says it just had a major service that cost (no joke here) 50,000 pounds!!! Can you imagine paying that for a service on a car!! Jeez you could buy a nice 348 for that money. |

There is NO support from VW on the EB110. Amerispec has legalized a few and the price of one is way down. In real life the car looks very nice. For what's it's worth Fritz wasn't too high on Dauer. The good thing about driving 1967 racecars on the street is that it is very simple to make them US legal. |

With the current situation Bugatti is in, with new owners every other year, what kind of technical support would you find for that car? Are there even dealers? I doubt the car can be drivin in the US. All the one's I have seen needed a Show and Display from the DOT and Customs. |

The Bugatti is a beautiful car- the EB110, the EB112, the Cyan, the Veyron, they're all gorgeous and i've been a Bugatti fan since i first saw a picture of one... i'm with jeff, i'd easily sacrifice both nuts for one of these cars... And Jeff, when you mentioned Dauer, it reminded me of the Sultan of Brunei, who has 6 Dauer LM 962s... The Sultan's collection even includes a Ferrari concept (The Mythos) that never went into production... The Sultan is said to have so many Ferraris, that Ferrari stopped selling them to him, so he started buying them on the black market... Here's a link to check out an article (and some pictures) of his cars... (sorry if i side-tracked from the purpose of the thread) http://autozine.kyul.net/article/brunei/sultan.htm

Quad turbos sound expensive! i'd hate to see the bill if those turbos went. What a hot car though. I wouldnt mind having one though, but i'd prefer the 110S, the more hp the better. From what ive seen they arent that expensive(relatively) either. i think some are listed on www.thecarexperience.com for under $200k. mostof them are in europe though. |

Yeah, I dig that car too. Back in '94 I got an invitation to a big party in Philadelphia with an unveiling of a silver EB110. It was because I subscibed to the DuPont Registry I suppose. So I put a suit on, and headed to the party at this posh hotel. That car was seriously cool in person. But when I sat in it, I didn't fit. So the salesman said if I bought one, they'd dial me in with seats that allowed me to fit properly. Too bad back then I couldn't afford the tires on it. But it is a very striking car, and would look rather swell in my gargage. Well I still have the press kit in my office that I peek at once in a while. Ok, so I'm rambling. You fellas just stirred up a good cool car memory. Thanks. |

I could never in a million years afford to buy or own one. But I was just interested to know if it's a car with a following though a small one. To me it's one of the more intersting cars to be produced in the last 20 years. I just wish I could aleast see one with my own eyes. I wonder what othe cars they would have come up with if the company had been a succsess. |

The EB110 is on my shortlist of cars I would donate a testicle (or 2) for. First exposure to one in the flesh was in 1995 at the Montery Historics. Ferrari was unveiling the 355 and had a huge tent with about 5 or 6 355's, assorted older cars, some F1's. I was walking the tent (eyeballing the car I would be owning in 7 year - didn't know it at the time) when this very loud Fiam horn was honking at the enterance. It was the California Bugatti dealer making his and the EB110 presence known to all, much to the chagrin of the Ferrari personell who were trying to stop him from driving into the tent! Any way...Bugatti went away into recievership, as we all know, with Vw/Audi Ag picking the company up. They didn't pick up the EB110 however. Another German company, Dauer, picked up all the parts, and I think some of the tooling from the EB110 to continue making the car under it's own name. Dauer was converting Porsche 962's for street prior. Here's their website in case you have the desire for a new EB: http://www.eb110.com/eb/engindex.html Jeff Davison |

A friend of mine in England did a lot of the development driving for the McLaren F1. When he was doing this they had a few other supercars to rate the F1's performance against; among these was an EB110. In discussions with him, he told me that all of the test drivers and engineers were astounded as to how good the EB110 actually was. Apparantly it was very predicatable at the limit and was quite forgiving to a less than stellar pilot. I was actually at a car dealer in Germany last week and they had 2 of them in the showroom. Pretty car from the outside but the burled wood trim on the interior was totally out of place for that category of vehicle. |

Perhaps one could find parts for a Bugatti in the OFF TOPIC section? |

I can't imagine try to find parts for it either! I've only seen one in person, at the Detroit Auto show years ago. I think I have some pictures of it somewhere, I'll try to dig them up. I've never seen one on the street anywhere. |

Have any of you fellows ever owned or driven an EB110? I was just wondering if the car is really all that it was cracked up to be. I'm asking this because I'm stareing at an old copy of road and track on my desk with the car on the cover. I can't imagine trying to find parts for that car!! |
