Arlie, Bill Sadler built his own sports racing cars beginning in 1955 with the Sadler MkI and culminating in the mid-engined Sadler MkV of 1959. After that, he went on to build Formula style single seaters. Here is a picture of Bill along with a MkII and MkIII (and an F-18). He had these cars at the Monterey Hitoric Races this past August (though this pic was taken in 1999 during a vintage event at the Coronado Air Field in San Diego). By the way, they have nothing in common with the TR but, being 1950's sports racers, they share similar overall proportions.

Bob Norwood has done some TR replicas, so he would have the exact specs.

Ben, Have you ever seen a photograph of a car called a Sadler? I think it was also made around 1959. I remember seeing a photo of one in an old Hemmings Motor News advertisement. It reminded me very much of an early Testa Rossa. I honestly don't know if all the Sadlers looked the same, but you might try a little web surfing and see if they had anything in common with the early Testa Rossas.

theres a shop down in New Zealand that builds stunning replicas for around $300k. or you could go straight to Modena & they will build you a brand new pontoon TR minus the Ferrari serial #, probably gonna be a few more pennies :-)

I was thinking about building a really nice handbuilt replica. Can't afford a real one, so this is as close as I'd ever get!

Oh, and thanks for the leads on the books.

I think David Kimble drew some exploded views of it. There is a garage in Reno, NV of all places that specializes in pontoon TRs as they have 2 they work on regularly, Intrepid motors, ask for Burt

Does anyone have blueprints or other specs on early Testa Rossa's? I'm particularly interested in detailed chassis specs. I've been looking for quite a while and cannot find anything detailed about them. Hasn't someone written a nice book on them similar to the GTO books I've seen? All I've found so far barely mention them!

The information is needed for a personal project, and I would really appreciate the assistance.
