Peter, You're right. Not a DIY unless you have experience with the materials. However, I'm sure with so many car nuts in HK there has to be somebody that has experience. In any case the bra is the way to go if you just want to take it on and off when needed. BTW, likewise your TR is looking clean. I'd really hate to mess up that nose.

Grigio,

Your 512 looks awesome. Can't see anything there. Stongard looks good, but sounds like I can't do a DIY job on installation.

Speedlingerie looks good but a bit on the steep side pricewise. How is their turnaround time anyway? I checked carcovers.com, and their turnaround time for a red 512TR bra is 10 weeks! Cost is a reasonable $400-ish.

I have a slight problem with pre-cut stuff. Nobody is going to make something that fits. Slight problem with a grey market, low production car.

Installed Stongard http://www.stongard.com/sgcontent/what_sg.asp
I'm very happy with the results and they have a pre-cut application for 512TR's including mirrors. Can you see it on my profile? Didn't think so. Clear stuff seems to show up more on black, but then again so does everything else. I did have Stongard apply it to the front lights so that rocks don't crack the lens, that application is more noticable mainly because of its thickness, but it beats cracked lenses.

SpeedLingerie is the best by far. I have had one for my TR and 348 and they both looked and performed great.

If you want to wear it on your car full time and want it to look good there is no choice but SpeedLingerie or 3M Body Armour. I have owned both. The SpeedLingerie is color matched perfectly, can be removed when you need to for shows, etc., fits perfectly and stays put at high speeds. Mirror bras are good too. The 90 dollar bras are black, look like , fit like , flap like - I gave two away that were with cars I bought. One Porsche factory bra, one from Ferrari on a Mondial t.

3M - probably needs to be applied on a TR by a pro. Did it myself on a 930 - pretty straight surfaces all in all - not all that cheap even buying a pre-cut kit and doing it yourself. Showed scratches after a bit that are permanent and noticeable, gives no protection from a stone dent as it is not padded as the SpeedLingerie is, but my second and last choice.

Brian,

Have you tried to take the tape off @ all? We are driving from Dallas to West Palm next month, I would like to cover the car until it goes on the show field.

What about the clear tape product by 3M? It is called "Clear Armor" here in the Bay area. It is fantastic! I have had it on my daily driver for 7 months now. Awesome stuff!

SpeedLingerie will cost you well over $700.00, carbra.com has a much cheaper option and it fits pretty well. Cost is about $89.00. I tried them both and kept the carbra. Speedlingerie is built to a higher quality but not worth the $600+ dollars difference IMHO.

I am thinking of taking my 512TR to the track in China next Feb. As I will be driving through China, I was advised that there could be a lot of pebbles on the road to the track. I am thinking of getting a bra to protect the front end, so that I don't need a new paint job when this is over. Any good site I can visit to find out more? Thanks!
